    Father's Side

    He is first generation German American.  My Grandfather is from Baden Baden.  My Mother's side is County Cork.  What a combination.

    German Jews

    my great etc. grandparents were german jews living in the soviet union. they escaped right before the holocaust. they didn't have enough money to get into america but a phantom man gave them the money. and our last name was changed to a fonetic spelling.

    My Grandfather Was Born In Germany

    My grandfather was born in Germany in 1920; he left for America in 1946.  His father fought for Germany in the First World War and was murdered in the Second World War, as was his wife and all of his children except for my grandfather.  Luckily, my grandfather survived...

    From Zwiesel and Eisenstein

    My father has been tracking our geneology and has tracked our German relatives back to Zwiesel and Eisenstein. It would be cool to meet others who are from this part of Germany...

    I have like 16% German ancestry,

    maybe closer to 20. I know where some of them came from and my parents have been to where half of my moms German ancestors came from.

    They had the surname Battcher,

    though I think this may have been Anglicized. I learned German in high school but don't remember too much of it now. I am interested in researching more of my family tree and finding out where everyone caem from.

    German On My Mothers Side

    i at least know for sure that on my mothers side of the family they came from germany,when we lived there the last time i was stationed there i got to go see the town they came from,on one hand it was exciting to see where family came from,and to meet some very distant family...

    100% German But Was Adopted

    I looked for my natural family for 30 years and found them a few years ago. My Parents passed aways years ago in their 90's.  I was told that both of my parents were of German decent. My Mother's maiden name was either Wristler or Wristen.

    I Have German Ancestors

    This is so funny I just joined a group about having Native American Ancestors which I do but I also have German Ancestors as well! My mothers father and my fathers father both have German Ancestors. The Native American blood ties runs on the maternal side of my family.
