    I have a disability,

but it is a different kind of disability than mentioned here. My disability is a social disorder called "Asperger's syndrome." This issue causes problems with me being able to make friends & socialise with people.

I think everyone in general has a disability .

But the ones who are actually disabled are adorable to me . I love helping them and bringing a smile to their face . They can brighten my day knowing they're so innocent and appreciative . In high school I use to volunteer with children who have disabilities and when people...

    This is telling. It's acting,

but this is what disabled people live with everyday. My hat's off to the folks that had the balls to speak up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oc_K9c24R5o

As a person with a disability myself ( I have

spina bifida and am in a wheelchair because of it) I totally understand how hard some days can be. But we rise to the challenge and face the adversity head on and do what needs to get done.

Growing up the youngest of 3 siblings with my

eldest brother passing away at 21 years (when I was 12) & my 2nd brother having a mental illness, the people that care for people with disabilities do not have an easy job. My life can be a struggle daily. It's hard explaining to friends about it because not everyone...

It Has Made Me Stronger, though Sometimes It Doesn't Feel That Way

I was born with what is now known to be the most common neuropathic disease there is, more common than MS, that no one has ever heard of. I was 3 years old when it did its initial damage to my body so I have never known anything different than having this disease. The major...

I use to work in a group home

for people with developmental disabilities. Many times I preferred their company to my supervisors and some of the other staff. They were not cookie-cutter people, each one had their distinct personality and quirks. I still think about them often even though it has been 20...

    Struggle And Reward.

I often see a local disabled lad from the block getting out of his car, and I watch as much as is respectable as he gets out and clings to the car as he gets his wheelchair out. He must love the freedom of that car so much to go through so much effort to drive it.
