On my dad's side of the family.
Started showing itself when I was in my early 20's.
My first instinct was to eat to get it to calm down. It'd calm down for a little while then flare back up.
I've since learned that my Dad has it and have been treating it.
10 years ago. I noticed it when I would go to bed. I would drink water, lay down, and then feel intense burning in my gut. Over time, I would get it during the day. The pain would get so bad it felt like I was getting crushed. I couldn't breathe. I am on medication now, but that...
Just one night out of the blue had severe pain in the chest and felt that I couldn't breathe. It felt like a heartattack but it was just the beginning of years of severe heartburn.
Doctor's opinion was that my heartburn was due to gallbladder stones.I had my gall bladder removed...
i have been having heartburn since i was 11
so when i started getting it, i could'nt eat ANYTHING without getting heartburn
it went on like that for a couple years but now i barely get heartburn anymore
I found out last year that I have acid reflux disease. I thought I was having a heart attack...because I was having all the signs and symptoms. I am now taking Nexium on a daily basis to help me battle it. I have less attacks now, but they do come on strong every once in awhile.
