Oscar...For Love About three years ago I was

working with a woman who had alzheimers and a broken hip. She lived in a lovely beach home, and she had found a cat who had been abandoned, crying in the beach house next door. He was so shy...so scared of all the people coming in to care for his "Mom", that she was amazed when...

I lost one of my rats tonight.

I know they're not most people's idea of pet, but I love them just as much as any dog or cat. I'm sad that she's gone but also upset for her sister too. Leelah is very aggressive with any rat but her litter mate, so now she's alone. My daughter keeps asking where's Z, where's Z...

For all the people out there

who have loved and lost a pet, please remember that the time you had together and the love you shared is everlasting. I'm not religious, but I believe that the ability to unconditionally love an animal and be loved back by him or her is sacred. One day, we will cross the...

Just when things were looking up,

I found out that my oldest hamster Coconut has passed away. What made it more upsetting was the fact that his eyes were open, his black empty eyes glaring at me... His stiff lifeless body... I hate the feeling of dead rodents... Especially when it comes to disposing them...

Aww, I had 3 sweet parakeets

and I miss them all. They would do things like eat spaghetti and turkey, dance, imitate various sounds, and were just generally sweet. One would always drink out of the birdbath and then bathe in his drinking water, haha. They all had fun personalities and were good pets.
