I am a vegertarian have been for the past 40+ years now in my 40s.  I have tried no fats whatsoever and it has not helped.  I have progressive so I don't know if it is going to respond differently than replapsing but I do do know life is miserable enough without being able to eat a biscuit or have some icecream!
