I Have Ocd

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 2,849 People

I have OCD, and I will tell you,

it is a true ANXIETY DISORDER, not some joke to make when you get annoyed at something not going your way. People fail to realize how similar OCD can be to schizophrenia, and I'm not just talking about schiz OCD which is a common condition of which a person with OCD believes...

    I feel so contaminated.

I want to tear out my skin, scrub it clean and stitch it back on. I'm shaking and panicking and I can't handle the fact that I can't fix it. I can't disinfect my whole body. I can't be clean. I feel so overwhelmingly unsanitary and I can barely breathe. I need to fix it. But I...

Today was a bit of a weird day.

After about 3:00 pm I started doing my homework (as I always do on PD days, holidays and weekends) but I realized the table wasn't straight that my laptop was sitting on. I moved downstairs and sat the laptop on a different table but the fact that the one upstairs wasn't...

Aggressive OCD. I'm having an awful day with it

now. I've never talked about it before, and I'm off my medicine which does calm it, so this experience may come out as jerky and all over the place, and it probably won't make sense, but I'm doing this because I feel myself on the verge of a panic attack and I'm hoping that...

OCD and anxiety, I hate it.

I constantly count things throughout my day in 10s. If I accidentally get further than 10 (on off days) I have to count up to 20, and so on. I have only met once person that truly understands what I'm going through. I'm embarrassed to even admit this due to being judged because...

Does anyone else here associate everything in

their lives with specific numbers? No matter how hard I try, I can't seem to stop myself! I will do things an excessive amount of times just because I don't "like" certain numbers - mostly because of what those numbers represent or once represented. I count everything I do. I...

It's not so bad now, but still. I can't stand it when people say, "Everyone has a little OCD." Like no, everyone likes certain things to be a certain way, they're called preferences. OCD feels like I absolutely cannot continue to doing anything until this thing is facing that...
