    Realising A Pattern

Its funny, in a way. I've always felt kind of 'off', throughout the summertime. Its a trend that I've noticed over the past couple of years, but I've never thought too much about it. Neither had I realised that there was a term for it, nor that so many others felt it too. Like...

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone with SAD notices any kind of anxiety during the Winter months. This year I've been going on my light box, taking the Pura EPA fish oil tablets from mind1st.com what help me, also eating well and doing loads of excercise. This all has kept the...

    Meloncholy Autumn To Desolate Winter

I can feel it setting in deeper with every passing day now. I try to sit out in the sun, but it's getting too cold for that. My bones hurt from the cold and my mind hurts from the dark. I hate the dark. Darkness is like a reflection of what's inside of me, following me around...

I Am a Fair Weather Friend...

The moment I heard of SAD, I knew I had it.  I was 12 or 13 and it was still kind of a theory.  I hate it.  I sometimes feel like it is its own breed of bipolar disorder.  I am 2 different people - in the winter I am lazy and apathetic and will eat any...

    So Very S.A.D.

Every year around the end of September or beginning of October it's the same thing...an emotional flat line. It ranges from just feeling a little blah to being seriously depressed, but all the happy is gone for a few months. Oh, there's still happy moments. Sometimes full days...

Winter Brings Me Misery Every Year

I was a summer baby, born in 85 in the sweltering heat, maybe that is why winter makes me feel like the world is ending. This year, winter has been the worst to date probably due to the rest of the stress in my life right now, but I literally wish i could stay in bed until the...

SAD is a crappy thing to go through.

It just makes me so cranky and irritated that it's also bringing my grades down. The days get darker and darker and I just get worse. And anyone knows that any parent doesn't like continuous "slacking off". I used to love winter and hate summer but all I want now is some...

    Are You Okay?

I'm thinking of everyone in this group... it's been fairly quiet... I can guess why. I can only speak for myself, but it feels like this winter has beaten me to a pulp. Living in the 'great white north' doesn't help. Although the days are (finally) getting longer, most days it's...

    Seasonal Affective Disorder

Today is the day we turned the clock back one hour. It makes us feel more tired and irritated. It's a change in mood, some of us feel depressed or sad. We see less Sunshine and more darkness during the day. It gets darker earlier, and it affects us. I'm a fan of social...
