I'm nearly 16 now, I discovered I had SM when I started nursery. I don't remember much, but what I do remember was the way my teachers pressured me to talk, "you won't play until you ask nicely 'can I play'", and obviously, having SM, all I could do is stand there, so I did miss...

As a kid I was mentally abused by my father.

Recently he has told me that selective mutism runs in my family.now he is trying to "cure" me of it. I am laughing. He is feeling guilt because he was the one to cause the disorder. I'm guessing many people who use this app have selective mutism too.
