I Have Severe Breast Asymmetry

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 83 People

Hi.. to my surprise there is a group with 80

people who share in my severe breast asymmetry! I am not proud of it, I have been ashamed of it my entire life. I have considered surgery, but petrified of going under the knife at the same time. I am in my 40's and at this point in life I am going to leave well enough alone...

I'm a full B or maybe bigger on my left side

and I pretty much have nothing on the right. I'm happy for those of you who have found peace with it or whatever but I'm using this to vent so excuse me. I'm furious. I've been furious since my left breast developed into the beautiful body part of a woman and my right breast was...

All I See Is A Deformity.

My breasts started developing really early, I think when I was about ten. I started noticing that the right one was a little bigger when I was twelve or thirteen. By the time I got to high school, I was extremely self-conscious about it. I walked around with a book in my arms and...

It took me a while to even make this group, seeing as there is none to my knowledge. Anyway, for me it's genetic on my mom's side. We all have one breast that is significantly larger than the other. Just my luck, mine happens to be the worst out of everyone's. I'm basically flat...

    Finally Accepting Myself

I am 20 years old and I have breast asymmetry. My left breast is a C, and my right is a LARGE DD. I have been ashamed of my myself for as long as I can remember. In middle school when I started developing I hid myself in hoodies every single day no matter the weather, because I...

It's such a relief to find other people feel

the same. I'm 19 and when I was younger, from 14 to 16 I didn't really notice or realise it or care, it's when people suddenly point it out or you see boobs, and you're like oh.. Mine aren't like that. You start to analyse your body really hard and become obsessed. I can't even...

I Thought I Was A Monster. Sometimes I Still Do.

I have always been extremely different in size. There is no need to explain to you all the shame and fear I went through as a teenager trying to hide it from everyone. Practically all of my highschool life is marred by anger and embarrassment at not being like everyone else...

    Struggle Of A Lifetime

At age 14, I began to notice that only one of my breasts was growing. I was the latest of all of my friends to get my period or develop breasts, but I was also the tallest. This sent me into a severe panic. Over the course of a year, as my left breast continued to grow larger and...

I Just Want Them To Be Even

When my body began to change, only the left breast developed. My right remained as it was when I was a child - the nipple small and flat to my chest, while the left blossomed into a full B with a womanly nipple to match.Others began to take notice.  I recall being teased for my...

    Glad I Got It Fixed

When I started developing breasts, they were normal; the same size and shape. Then when I got to 8th grade it seemed like I woke up one day and my left breast was a lot bigger than the right one. I was so embarrassed. I didn't tell anyone. I wore sports bras all of the time...

How Did You Tell Your Partner?

I've been dealing with breast asymmetry since puberty, as I'm sure most of you have. My biggest problem these days is being able to tell my boyfriend that I have asymmetrical breasts. I've told a few boyfriends during high school and they were all okay with it but I've just...

    Family Oddball

I come from a family of three other women, they all developed properly, I did not. Some times I feel that I must be the defective member of the family and/or the genetic joke of the family. It was bad enough to get my period at 15, 3-6 years later than normal. I have sent three...

    Not Necessarily Severe.

My breast asymmetry is not severe, in that most people do not notice. My husband knows which boob it is, but that's about it. I noticed it years ago. My right breast is probably only a C cup, but my left is a D. So, I buy D bras and my "little" boob side has to have a tighter...
