I Don't Know If I Have It But...

I have dreams throughout the night that I am suffocating. I have dreams where I am drowning in the deep end of the pool, or that I can't breathe through my nose and I stick something in my mouth to close off my throat, I also have dreams that the room I'm in fills up with CO2 and...

    Apnea With a C-pap

Years ago I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea.  I was given a CPap machine and tried to use it for a year.  But for some reason I cannot tolerate it, even after a year I was always throwing the mask off in the middle of my sleep.  The Doctors mentioned surgery...

Possibly since I was a child.

I've never been able to sleep through the night. I always thought it was just because my mind was consumed with the chaos of my family. (I still think that was a big part of it. ) Last year, when I was really depressed and suicidal I often spent the night at my friend's house...

    First Week On CPAP

Well I've been chasing doctors for about 8 months for my fatigue, memory and concentration problems. Finally, my regular doctor came back from maternity leave and really listened to me. She suggested I go on thyroid medication, but first wanted to rule out sleep apnea. I said...

    My Osa Diagnosis

Hello, I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea a month ago, and in hindsight wish that I had sought help earlier.  For years I took my snoring and morning headaches to be "no big deal" but I was really just kidding myself and pushing down the truth, because in my heart...

The dr tells me I have it very bad,

too. 1 week after my sleep study someone from the hospital called me with some urgency in his voice. He offered to make an appointment to see the dr the same day. Lemme tell you, in this socialist paradise, you *never* get same-day appointments in the medical system! Well, the...

    I've been using a C-PAP machine

for over 15 years. The last machine I had to buy out-of-pocket and I found a good unit at a discount from http://www.secondwindcpap.com/. They sell new and "gently used/clean" machines. I also use a new mask called "The Sleep Weaver" ($69) that is all cloth and very comfortable...

I've had my CPAP for several years now.

I love it! I can't believe how long I slept without it! When I was younger, my sister would plug my nose and I'd turn over. Wasn't mean, I'd never ever wake up. Now if only I could have my relaxing sounds app on loud enough so my hubby wouldn't be bothered about it.

throat come together or collapse during sleep, blocking off the upper part of the airway. A person with this disorder might have a sleep disturbance hundreds of times every night. Symptoms may include daytime sleepiness and poor concentration. A person with narcolepsy is...

    So I am just diagnosed

and freaked out. Was told I have 58-62 episodes an hour that I stop breathing and at times I get hypoxia because my oxygen drops to 70% and if I don't wear this ridiculous contraption over my nose to sleep at night I could die or very much shorten my life span. Not happy.
