    Volunteering Overhours

I was volunteering in our town's dinosaur museum one afternoon and was very into identifying and labeling a bunch of bones that had been donated from another museum across the country that was closed down due to lack of funding. I usually got out of the museum lab when they...

Twice we've had sleep over parties at the Museum of Science and Industry. There were activities and IMAX movies and we all slept amongst the exhibits. It's cool to be able to run around at night in a museum that's empty except for your group. The kids had a blast and so did I. I...

    Night Shift.

My only full security job was at an art museum. During the weekends I picked up hours as a bouncer at a club. Well I was actually there for professionalism as the only bouncing I did was usually off of people. Well one weekend they wanted me to work it because the usual guy was...

"Slept" May Be A Slight Misstatement

There were dozens of them.  Boy Scouts littered the ground.  Ranging from about age 8 up to 17.  The science museum offered a sleepover night for troops, a chance to come and spend the evening, sleep over, have breakfast and enjoy activities the next day.  I was a chaperone...

    A Couple Actually. . .

I've actually slept in more than one.  I was a girl scout when I was younger and we had a very active troop.  We had over nights in three museums, one zoo, two churches, and Chucky Cheese.  The museum was the most creepy place to stay though, especially at...

    A Unique Experience

I used to be a girl guide and we did this once. It was in the science museum in London, I believe and we did loads of different activities, like making goo and then when it was night we slept around the exhibits. It was really uncomfortable but really cool. I'm glad I did it.

    Nice !

Years ago, I worked at Brown University..back in R.I.. During the winter, it was our job to monitor the heat in the buildings around campus, as they lowered all the heating systems down to save energy. I was there around the clock on call. Our last stop of the round was the...

Overnight and Just For a Few Hours

I love museums, but they make me drowsy. Usually i curl up on that uncomfortable thick bench and doze for awhile. It's a wonderful place to snooze because everyone tiptoes around and is silent or whispers. Once I slept overnight in an aquarium (not in the actual tank) with my...

    Noises Off

Margate Museum is notorious for its ghostly presences.  Spirits from beyond that clank and rattle around the place, moving artefacts and causing cold patches even when the heating is on.So, one night, I ended up taking a bunch of young people on a 'scary sleepover'.  There was...

ever since i read "from the mixed-up files of mrs. basil e. frankweiler" as a kid i've been dying to do this! they sleep in an antiqued bed that marie antoinette slept in, and bathe in the giant fountain, and purchase food from concessions with the money they dig out of...
