    "cash"

I used to think it happened to everyone; words having tastes. Since I was young I would taste words and even pictures. Some words even have textures. Although it can be distracting, I embrace it. "cash" tastes like Hamburger Helper (stroganoff, to be exact). Have...

Hey, I have a few different aspects of Synnie, but one that I haven't heard from anyone else is People having a "smell". It's not an actual physical scent, it's something that their personal energy (Aura?) throws at me. Like my best friend... To me, she's...

    Synesthesia :)

    My Experiences With Synesthesia

For as long as I can recall, I've had synesthesia, but it's only been in the last two years or so that I've learned that term. For a long time I thought it was something normal that happened to everyone. I was quite shocked to find out that it's actually fairly rare. For the most...

    Smells Have Words

A while back I came across synesthesia and finally understood why I do what I do and why not a lot of people understand. I had to reach out to someone on here to know if what I was experiencing was synesthesia, but now it makes sense. I still have yet to find anyone else to...

It's the hardest thing to explain to someone

(I'm what they call more of an "associator" than an actual visual experiencer -- I see colors with musical notes, but it's like they're BEHIND my eyes, but everything in my vision becomes SLIGHTLY tinted with whatever color I hear in the music). But without it, I wouldn't write...

It took me a while to realize this is a form on synesthesia. Originally, I just thought it was those people who can taste and see sounds. For me, numbers are male and female, young and old. I had just figured it must be something like my imagination getting the better of me, and...

    Smelling Sounds

No one really has this type of synesthesia, but I'll explain, whenever I hear my parakeet chirp it smells like a big wad of Cotton Candy, and when my math teacher talks, I smell the foul stench of vinegar. I THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY!

God And Pain (A Christian Experience)

It is commonly said in Christian circles (and backed up with certain Bible verses) that God takes away our pain because He bore it all on the cross. Well it would be nice if we never had to suffer, especially not much. God certainly can and does take away pain at times, and...
