Well, today is a big day

for me. On this day three years ago, November 11, 2011, I made the decision to stop pulling. I've been pull free for three year!! And what an amazing journey it has been! When I first stopped, things were hard; really hard! I would constantly be reminding myself, day in and day...

I dont know why... But I always do my makeup

when i have urges to pull. It not only distracts my hands and concentration, but gives me practice and it makes me feel better about not having any eyelashes or brows :)

So for the longest time I grew up pulling

mainly my lashes. Then it turned into pulling at my brows, too. Now I'm at the point where I've been able to grow more lashes than I've had in years but now I can't leave my brows alone. So sick of this imbalance. Anyone else have an experience similar to this??

I've just hit the 48 hour mark of not touching

my hair...not easy, I've literally had to stop myself from reaching up, and several times thought "just once won't hurt". After 17 years making it just 2 days feels so awesome.

I started when I was a young toddler (according

to my mom), and I'm 39 now. I can't seem to stop. Sometimes I will slow down, but I cannot seem to control this behavior. Fortunately, I have very thick, medium length hair; therefore my bald patches are not very noticeable. I'm treated for depression with 30mg Lexapro...

I'm going to be blatantly honest here. I'm 14 years old. I suffer from Trichotillomania and I feel so overwhelmingly alone in this. I have no one to talk to about this. So here's my story. Please don't judge. It started when I was about 10. I was semi-obsessed with my hair. I...

Trich has been apart of my life

since I was about 6 years old. I don't know exactly what triggered it, but it has greatly impacted my life. It hit the hardest when I was in the 4th grade. I was a little 9 year old girl with no eyebrows and only 5 eyelashes on each eye. I knew back then that it was wrong, but I...

I was about 8. I am now 17, so about 9 years of Trich. Not a very long time, but a very stressful time. It started with the pulling of the eyelashes. I was at a relatives house, and my much older cousin pointed out a loose eyelash on my cheek. It's a very faint memory, but I...

    It started with my eyelashes

when I was around 5 years old, or so. Then I began with my eyebrows and eventually into my head. It's not severe. Many are way out of control with complete bald spots. Just every so often, there's this sensation, and I try to lightly scratch the area instead of pulling, but...
