Several times in my life I worked the graveyard

shift. Once in a factory (we made clay. Yes you read that right, we made CLAY!) and a few others in convenience stores. Now, I'm an early riser...REAL early (4 AM now by choice). But I noticed that there is a specific "type" of critter who would come into the stores during the...

At the moment I feel like I'm slowly losing the

will to live. On them at present and I feel so awful! The bus ride home this morning and my head lulled around as I felt like I was desperately trying to stop myself from drifting out of consciousness so I could make it to my stop. I make it there, and the person in front of me...

    Not Easy!

While it usually isn't as busy at that time it's still really hard. Your body is battling with you to fall sleep and your forcing it to stay awake from 9pm up until 7.30 the next morning. It's like your poor brain is crying "why are you doing this to me? why?" Your allowed an...

As of recent I have worked the dreaded

    Yeah. Many night shift jobs.

It messes with your body clock, your friends and family life. It's difficult to plan things in advance. And of course, you need to be able to sleep during the day. Which is fine during the autumn and winter. But I find harder to do during the spring and summer. If for no other...

    I've worked nights since 1994.

My past few jobs were the night shift. I love it for several reasons, the money is better, fewer bosses, more interesting coworkers plus I have the day to do what I want, like go to the doctor and not being rushed in crowded stores.

My favorite was the second shift Ie: 3-11 or 2-10. More action and a totally different set of the public to encounter. Graveyard shift IS a lot slower but more of the "good" stuff happens late at night. That's just me though. The nature of a persons job makes all the...
