Hi! I'm actually not a parent.

..My name is Melody, I'm 11 years old (6th grade), and I was wondering if any homeschooling moms could well...tutor me... I'm really behind in school (like, behind in everything!). I'd like someone who is kind please. And if I get behind with you or something, I'll have to do...

i began homeschooling my daughter at the end of the 1st semester during her 2nd grade year.  i was very unhappy with the school system she was in, not to mention the teacher and the cirriculum. it has really worked out.  she was given the choice this fall to go back to...

It really isn't 'homeschooling' in the UK -

legally, it is 'education other than at school', and 'home education' or 'elective home education' is the legal term. There are no formal requirements, it is essentially educational freedom, so unschooling is very popular here. We have home educated since 1999.

We are Unschooling homeschoolers, and I never thought I'd say that.

Years ago, when I was pregnant with my first child, I joined an online forum for pregnant women. One topic of conversation was homeschooling. I had such a pleasant view of it, involving lots of products from the stationery store (I'm such an addict) and being incredibly organized...

    I Homeschool!

I had thought about homeschooling, but never made a firm commitment. When my Son was diagnosed with ADD I realized that the the school would become my enemy and cause more harm to him. The last year he was in PS he  was tormented by his teachers. They would say things...

    Teaching The Truth

I was reading a friends blog today which was partially about banned books and textbooks misrepresenting the facts. This in turn made me think of this topic. When teaching history, I put the history books aside and used them only as a timeline. History books do not necessarily lie...

    Homeschooling and Loving It!

I have had my kids in Public, private and homeschool settings over the years.  Homeschool is definitely the best.  Public schools have their perks and their downfalls.  There certainly is a lot of stuff to choose from (both good and bad).  The biggest...
