When I have time, I love reading different

books about the criminal justice system. I have family members that are employed as attorneys and in other positions in the cjs. I am fascinated about murder mysteries. I also enjoy watching different television series and movies about the same subject.

I like crime thrillers when I am trying to escape from my normal reading.  However, often criticise the points of law used. I do like reading law books, however do not extend that to my law textbooks exactly, more so books that treat a case as having individuals...

I have just discovered a series of books about

nineteenth century crime in Scotland. I am interested in history and this series is based on court cases and newspaper reports, with some historical background. Murders, riots, grave robbing, theft and all human nature. What I have learned most is that nothing changes except...

I just got the book "the racketeer" by John

Grisham from one of mom's friends from work. Is it a good book? I got two books from the same person. The other book is "Never go back" by Lee Child. Are these books worth the read?

    I'm a Crime Story Junkie...

Ever since I was a teenager and read Helter Skelter and In Cold Blood, I have been a crime story junkie.  I read dozens and dozens of those sappy "true crime" stories that fueled my interest in the criminal mind.   I moved on to fiction, and still can't...

I would highly recommend 'The Victorian

Underworld' by Kellow Chesney - full of period detail. It is mainly English [as am I] but hard to find. Mayhew's 'London Underworld' is a classic of course but if you have many hours to spare, plough through!

I'm not much in to murder mysteries,

however. I'm hoping to wiggle in the Agatha Christie eventually but for now I'm far more in to Lawrence Block and shipping my tire in to classic noir. I took advantage of some Amazon promos and bought a set of Block's Keller series and a book based off of L.A. Noir. Would love...
