I Idolize Alton Brown

LOL  I do!  It was he that originally turned me onto Good Eats.  Admittedly, it took awhile for AB to grow on me, but I love him!  Not only is he entertaining to watch, but his recipes are great!  Mmmmmm...

On Good Eats, Alton Brown has deconstructed all manner of classic and/or common foods, putting them back together in his superpractical way, much to the benefit of all of us.  He approaches each project...

Alton Brown is amazing, he actually uses science to teach cooking, which I think is really very cool.  He makes me want to cook because he has explained why I need to take the time to make it right.  I love that.

good eats is the best show on the food network! not only does it offer great food info and delicious recipes, but it's so entertaining. alton brown is the greatest! he knows his stuff inside and out, and his way of conveying the message...

He understands the basic chemistry underlying food science, and knows the basics. From there, one can create anything!...He's also skilled at conveying this information, making it interesting and easy...
He IS the Food Network Star!!!

I've watched him make things from pasta to marshmellows all from scratch and it looks so easy and so much better then the store bought kind.
I love how he explains why foods cook or create what they do with science diaoramas and skits...

I had no culinary skills at all. I watched a few episodes of good eats and started experimenting.The way he presents everything is accessible to anyone,yet after watching him you are an expert on whatever the episode's subject was...

I love how his show isn't really about the recipes, it's about teaching you how to cook.  I watched a show where he spent half of it debating the merits of gas or charcoal grills.  I am forever indebted to Alton for teaching...

He is awesome and I love the science he puts into it.  He knows his stuff and I love the show.
And I love to use his recipe for pancakes, no boxed mixes for me again.
 
 

What can I say.  I'm a science geek, and I love to cook.  Of course I like watching Alton Brown.  I almost always learn something watching his show.

Alton is the bomb, yo. I love when he comes over to my house and shows me how to cook w/ all his charts and sock puppets. I wonder what we will make next?

Even though his recipes are too heavy on the salt sometimes (BACK OFF, fellow fans) AND they don't always seem to have been thoroughly tested....I still hang on Alton's every word as he cooks....if he'd been my science teacher back when...
