I know this because of the damage theve done to

me. Since they hurt me i lash out at people and say hurtful things to people. Then i feel angry at myself for hurting said people. It's a cycle. And i'm getting out. But i've learned to let comments pass me.

    Words CAN Hurt

The childhood saying: "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me" is SO NOT TRUE! Some words cause more pain than physical cuts. I know from experience. There has been an awful time or two in my life when I would have preferred physical pain instead of...

I was chatting with some friends in school,

and the concept of physical appearance came up. I asked, in all honesty, what they thought of me. One girl (very nice, by the way) started "You're not ugly, you're just-" then abruptly stopped herself, regret flashing in her eyes. It was accidental, and over something shallow...

I can appreciate the I don't need drugs

or alcohol to have fun group. I've posted there about my sobriety. It just feels like the old part of my life being bashed. Like most of the people there live to put down people who have or do use drugs. We were all taught the same thing growing up. But if we've used or for...

Good or bad it cuts right to your core,

its fascinating how one word could break us and other word make us. I know for a fact that people never value their words until they feel the pain they made others feel. All of us with no exception are emotional people even if we believed otherwise, there is still someone that...

    The Cut

Mirrors reflecting mirrors, Shadows hiding within shadows. Whispers beyond hearing, Words spoken without meaning. Truth is an illusion; Trust, an awful bargain. Care sharpened into a sword, Turned in your hand.

I was bullied a lot in school.

It rarely got physical. I think what people said about me back then had a lot to do with the issues I have today

    I was bullied every day

as a child. I was 5 when I heard words like 'queer and ***' for the first time. Worse than being cut by the words was asking my da what they ment. By the time I was 15, I hated myself so much that I started using drugs to numb the pain.

Never Felt Pain Like This Before

I am a closed off and quiet individual. I don't let people in, I never have. Until one day a boy comes along. He was fun, funny, protective, strong, amazing and I slowly opened up to him. I fell for him completely, for the first time I tried to let someone in. I opened up to him...

    Words Are Like Weapons

'Words are like weapons they wound sometimes'- Great lyrics to a timeless song by Cher and they ring so true. Whether it is rejection or an argument or just a crude remark, words can hurt more than you can begin to imagine. That is why whenever someone says something cruel...

As Deeply As A Dagger To The Heart And Soul.....

i have felt words do it to me; and i am sorry to say, i do it to those i love too, too often.  The worst part is that i do not intend it at all.  My love, Penny, is sensitive and openly states she is "high maintenance".  Sundays are the days she spends time at her...
