    Still Learning

how to work my sewing machine...but it's awesome because I can either use the foot pedal or the on/off button and it has speed variations where I won't go too fast where I can't keep since I'm still a beginner...all different kinds of embroidery choices...I need to sew more often...

My mom never wanted any of us to get married

just so we would have someone to take care of us. All the boys had to know how to sew, cook, do laundry properly. Thanks, now I can fix my own corset after popping an eyelet from pulling it so tight.

    I Do...

Ya I know how to sew.  My mom taught me how to sew by hand and then I learned how to use a sewing machine in Home Ec. at school.  I really like using a sewing machine more than sewing by hand.  I can't make anything complex but I do like making pillows!  They...

Haven't Done It In a While

It is time consuming and takes up a lot of space, but I do enjoy sewing every now & then. Just to get practice on my sewing machine, since I hadn't used it in quite some time, I mended a few of our dogs' toys.  I forgot how much I liked sewing until then.  I do...

    My Grandma Taught Me

My grandma was a seamstress for a while when she was younger, now that she is gone I have her sewing machine. It is really old but I love it. I can sew by hand too, I'm really good at it. If I really take my time and do it right you can't tell the difference between what I've...

    The Most Adorable Wolf

I am sitting here in my cozy apartment trying to think about the first thing I ever made ( sewing wise) and I am drawing a blank. I do remember (somehow) being a young teenager and going to weekend long concerts with hundreds, sometimes thousands of tents.I was inspired by the...

    Basic Stuff

Three things that push me to sew:   I'm not rich. I don't really care about fashion or shopping. ECOLOGY.   I sew also "doudou" plushes for children.   I can sew either hands. But I prefer left-handed, I think I do a better job. Then, I'm...

Yep, I know how and I love it.

You can get really creative with a sewing machine/serger. My favorite projects are skirts, dresses and leggings.

    Never Too Old to Start!

I taught myself to sew about 5 years ago and I've never looked back.  I sew mainly clothes for myself (clothes for my children are still much cheaper off the rack).  It's so awesome to be able to create something from scratch!  It can be an expensive hobby...

    Bellydance Costumes

Before I could afford a sewing machine I had to sew them all by hand. It took 40 forevers to finish 1. (40 foregers being almost 6 months lol). Might I add I was working 2 jobs at that time, so the time I spent sewing was limited. Making your own costumes is so much cheaper than...

    Yeah I'm a Guy...

I have a theory that any man worth his salt can clean for himself, cook for himself, shine his shoes and sew.  If you can't look after yourself then you can't look after a family.  That's why I'm proud to sew! I had a great laugh a few weeks ago.  I was sitting in...
