I Know My Blood Type

    My blood is A Negative,

which is a rare type, though not the rarest. I try to donate regularly, every 8 weeks which is the maximum the Red Cross will let you. I started donating after 9/11, when there were huge blood drives going on all around the country. Of course I knew my donation wouldn't be...

    O Negative (o-)

Only 9% of the country have the same blood type as me. Great that I am a universal donor. Not so great that I can only accept 0- blood if I get sick. Terrible that I am not allowed to give blood in this country. I do whenever I am in the UK though.

    A+ (Sub-type D-u) How special is that?

I believe it's not common. They took quite a few pints of my blood before realising about the sub-type bit.

    AB-, the least common type!

Less than 2% of the population has it. I can receive any negative blood.

The blood type-personality link is a Japanese

export. Almost everyone in Japan knows their blood type like everyone in the US knows their astrological sign. When I visited in high school, the Japanese high school kids were shocked that I didn't know my blood type. A lot of people seem to believe in it because they...

Blood Type B+, I'm An Animal.

Supposedly B is commonly found in animals, or something like that..the Nazis used blood type personality theory to argue that Asian peoples are "inferior", because B blood group is most commonly found in Asia. I don't blindly follow blood type personality theory, but based on the...

That's what happens when you have a bad immune system. Funny how you go from being called and begged to donate to shunned away. That's one less needle to worry about.

    I know my blood type

and when I think about it, it kind of says something about me personally. I am 0+, the universal donor. The "0" blood types are able to give to any other type as long as they are "+" as well. Applying that to personality, I try to give a positive (+) outlook to everyone I...
