    Human Gills Reject I D

This story is due to Echo.Or at least to one of her quirky questions, where she asked about how could she get gills in order to breathe underwater. It took me back straightaway 40 years to first year embryology lectures, something I had completely forgotten. For those who don't...

    Mutations Reject I D

One of the mistakes creationists commonly make is the equation of Darwin's natural selection with evolution. As the great man showed us, natural selection is a powerful and central force in the shaping of the history of life on Earth. In fact so compelling is it, that the...

    The Human Skeleton

I have a bad back. When I was a young man I popped a lumbar disc (I know that's not a correct medical description, but it'll have to do). If I don't regularly do the gentle stretching exercises the physio prescribed for me I seize up and suffer both immobility and pain. A friend...

I'm pretty sure that most people

who believe in intelligent design don't really understand the way that evolution works. They don't realize just how coherent the theory is.

    But I Do Believe

Creationism is clearly out.  It would require that some supernatural power had set up the observable universe, and especially this Earth, as a totally plausible and convincing lie. However, IF you define Intelligent Design as holding that God's Providence has guided...

There is an activist here in my country

who defied science theory on humans being able to survive up to 4 days without food or water - day 23 on no food and water , and you wonder most of the people who based things on science , or those who claim they have knowledge are mostly going by what they read in a book or...

    It Simply Aint

It's not so much that I know it, that is the issue. The issue is simply that it aint. The folks who play politics with their religion and work to disparage science do themselves no long term favours. Of course short term they can lobby for equal time in school curricula...

    Image Crisis

I Think It Should Be Taught.

Because we need to hear both sides of the story. In addition, I think astrology should be taught in conjunction with astronomy, alchemy with chemistry, phrenology with psychology.   And don't even get me started about math class.

    It's Not Science...

It's just stupid... Just say you're a creationist like the others, don't try to hide behind a bullshit theory that means the same as creationism.

ID/Creationism Has No Place Is Schools

Here in the American Bible Belt, they teach ID/Creationism along with Evolution and actually teach the two as "equal scientific theories".  Does anyone else besides me see a major problem with teaching this in the public school system.  We dont allow bible...

    Science: The New Religion

"The truth may be puzzling. It may take some work to grapple with. It may be counterintuitive. It may contradict deeply held prejudices. It may not be consonant with what we desperately want to be true. But our preferences do not determine what's true. We have a method...

    Of Course It's Not!

Intelligent design and science are two completely different ideas, using different logic and different methods of explaining our existence. They do not make sense to each other and the modes of thinking that accept either given answer are near polar opposites. Just watch any...

Why The Intelligent Design Theory Can't Hold A Candle To The Theory Of Evolution

Often there is a misconception going on about the Intelligent Design theory and treating it as an equal alternative to the theory of evolution. Now, why would one think of those two things as equal? This is of course based on a misunderstanding of the term "theory". To people...

    Science, proper science,

looks for the truth regardless of what you personally want to find. Creationist "science" and intelligent design are the opposite. It's not looking for the science of creation, whatever it may be, it's only looking for the science of the creation they see as fact, and I don't...
