Yo,that's An Adapter For a 45 Rpm Single!

Where have they all gone? What have we done to our past while we became what we are; leaving nothing to the next visitors to comprehend the efforts of our youth...

It Took Me a While to Figure It Out

I've known for years and years now, we always had them around. But I never realised most of them came with records we had. we never used them though since our stereo had a much better version with it

    A Long Time Ago

So do we call it a relic or an artifact? It reminds me of all the subtle differences that have developed, like cellphones, there was a time that only doctors and lawyers had beepers...and mobile phones? those would be car phones and only the rich had those. I remember the first...

It's either an IUD for 45 Rpm records or else a UFO

There were may types of these. this was the most popular. I've always wondered why they 45 rpm records had the large hole. This one would wedge itself in the record, I had others that would fit on the pin in the middle of the turntable and still other whole shafts that would fit...

I Belong to the Cult of the 45!

Some people think vinyl is dead. WRONG!!! I (somewhat) regularly by NEW vinyl releases. And I buy a lot of old vinyl too. I love to see this little adapter everywhere I go. As for the 'cult' part of my title: I have friends who wear these things as a necklace...

    It Began With the Romantics

My first 45 was "Talking In Your Sleep" by The Romantics, closely followed by Rockwell's "Somebody's Watching Me." I collected them for several years, amounting to hust under 400 singles before I went to tapes.  I gave most of them to a friend who was...

    Oh the Memories

Slumber parties with your friends...toting all your 45's in their groovy little case. Popping the logo picture into the center of the 45, positioning  the record just right on the stereo, making sure it slides down the metal rod, positioning the arm on the record, hearing...

I may still have one of these somewhere. I still have a turntable set up and like to listen to the old records once in awhile.

    I Never Bought A 45 Myself...

My Mom had all the 50s classics in a fancy record box, and my brother and I listened to all of them when we were growing up. In time we ended up breaking all of the adapters, and Mom got one that slid over the spindle on the turntable as a replacement.

    Read-along

Remember the read along story books on vinyl? I always had to put one of these guys in the record for it to play. I had this one Star Wars one and everytime R2D2 would say "beep-bo-boo-boo-brep-beep" you'd have to turn the page. That was so cool. Still have a few...

    Biohazard

In reality it's the 1960's & 70's version of the International Biohazard Symbol.  It was used in conjuction with black discs that were thought to be toxic by parents & elders.  There was a great battle of wills but finally the discs were tolerated if not...
