When I Was 12 Years Old

I first lifted weights when I was 12 years old, which probably wasn't very good for me at all, plus the fact that I didn't really know what I was doing. I still do it now, but I just do it at home, rather than in gyms.

I just started to lift weights

for shot-put. So, I was doing squats and dead lifts in practice today and it was 160 pounds (my best of today) but it will be different the next time I lift, gaining pound every time I lift, and after practice in the locker room I ripped off my shirt

    5 Lbs Weights

I got those weights at Wal Mart. I don't want my muscle to break down when I'm old. So that is why I lift weights.

    It Feels Good

Give me some, makes me feel good, working out that is. One thing I have learned since taking up weight training with the late Charles Atlas is that there are no hard line rules that everyone follows; even trainers are different. Some individuals only work with free...

Been heavy lifting for a few years now.

Started at 145lbs and pushing 200lbs now and now I'm trying to cut back to 185 and it's hurting pretty bad. Running 5-10 miles a day and I don't mind the cardio but I'm hungry! Grrr!

    upper body work yesterday,

today is leg work day. Will be pressing 630 pounds for 10 reps, 12 sets to start. Then light thigh lifts, and finishing with leg presses again, 10 reps of 390 for 6 sets, though the last set will be 25 reps. My legs should be somewhat rubbery for the 10 block walk home.

Foolishly, perhaps, I became involved in

political campaigns in 2012 and 2013. Those campaigns took a lot of time away from lifting. When I did lift, I tended to focus on my bench workout. After losing both campaigns, I had to focus on rebuilding my practice. Consequently, I just started working on legs recently...

    Did Chest and Back Yesterday...

And I am making progress! I am a female weightlifter and my hopes are to enter into a Ms. Figure contest this October in Texas. I am getting back in shape after having my third baby. I didn't get fat because I was very careful with my diet during the pregnancy. It has been an...

Today I knocked it out- after weeks of getting there. Despite some busy days and weeks and some suboptimal days nutritionally, my strength has continued to climb to where I am now right around my all time best numbers- at 51! Pleased with this! I hope I can inspire others with my...

Used To Do It All The Time In Highschool.

Haven't been able to do it since I graduated. But back in highschool I loved it, I was always the short kid in a school full of thugs and wannabe gangstas so yeah being the short, skinny white kid is basically like wearing a target on my forehead. So I dedicated the next few...

Evidence of Aging? It used to be

that I was only sore for a few workouts after a layoff. Now, I am very sore after every workout even though I've been lifting regularly for some time. I fear that it is the new reality.

    I don't lift weights

for the typical stigma of wanting beach muscles and wanting the women to flock to you because your big and muscly (not that there's anything wrong with that). I express myself through lifting. I can leave my pain in rage at the weights and be done with those feelings. There's so...

I read today that a man from the UK recently

set a new world record deadlift at 1,018.54 pounds. That is beyond my comprehension, and makes my 400 lbs look pretty puny.

Man I hope it goes better today than the lifting yesterday. Had no fire, no spark yesterday, still pushed hard, but just wasn't there, wasn't feeling it. Today will be better, my heavy lift day.

    Plateaus Are Annoying.

I've gone from a mere 115 last year to 160 this year. Though I highly doubt most of it comes from muscle. Haha. And nooow. I'm dead stuck at, well, where I am now. Haha. I don't wanna go pro with bodybuilding, but I wanna look like I'm going pro though. =)) I'll get there. Soon...

    The Gym

Ive been lifting for about 4 years now. I am pretty addicted, but I guess it's a good addiction. I never miss a day from my routines. I do low reps for size. I'm more into gaining weight and bulk rather than loosing and cutting. I was always small as a teenager 150 or so. Now i'm...

Had To Change My Whole Attitude On Working Out

    Finally Getting Back.

At age 52, I was benching 315, squatting 420, and deadlifting 385. Almost a year ago, I did something odd to myself with the result that I had only limited use of my right leg for about three months. Then I became involved in a campaign which greatly limited my lifting...

Lifting weights is the easy part,

EATING 6 times a day is the hard part for me!!! I want to bulk up but my metabolism are damn too high. Brought my first whey protein yesterday so I don't have to eat each hour, Idk if it works but I will give it a try.
