    Just Love It

I just love archeology. In a few years I will be an archeologist and I will finally do what I what born to do. I love the fact that everything we find from the past can help us understand who we are now. Just to imagine that so many people came before us and will come after, it...

    Fascinated By The Past

The past and its remnants fascinate me. Living in New Zealand, we are surrounded with evidence of the Maori occupation of the country; they've been here for the last 7-800 years, and the physical remnants of their presence is obvious everywhere in the landscape. As for occupation...

    Linked To The Past

I've wandered the Eastern Slopes Of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. When I find an arrowhead, I hold it in my hands and examine it and ponder. I realize that this may me 4, or 5, or 600 hundred years old, maybe even a thousand or more. And I think, Wow some guy made this, it is his...

    Tavern Project

I am currently working on a tavern built in 1788. Have one year of excavating so far and have found numerous artifacts from many time periods. Most interesting were some "Tear Drop" projectile points dating to the Early Woodland Period (100BC to AD0). All volunteer, but I...

I did my school work experience at the

Southampton Archaeology Unit! I learned lots and had such a great time there. Cleaning alsorts of bones, coins and other artefacts and then leaving them to dry before marking them up to then be recorded.
