I Like Archery

    I'm a self-taught archer.

Ive been in love with archery since I saw it in a movie when I was 7 years old. I quietly admired it from a distance for years until I got my own bow when I was 13. It was just a 12# junior bow that I found in a sports store and I begged my parents to let me get it. They agreed...

I have being doing archery at my school,

I was scared at first because I was worried that I will hit someone and that I have anxiety, When I pulled and released the string stress came out and I was feeling better

    Started In My Teens.

I've been doing archery for about 30 years. Back in the early '80s, the folks had just bought some acreage about an hour from home; shortly thereafter, they bought my brother and me recurve bows, arrows and a target. We'd go up periodically and shoot, dad teaching us the basics...

    Starting

I was sure I would like archery so I bought a basic recurve kit straight off. A friend from work in an archery club offered to give me some lessons and you cant say no to that can you. It was summer so it was outside which showed up the first problem I hadnt thought of, it is...

    People Say I'M Talented :D

I've been doing archery for years now. So I have had a lot of practice before we went doing it with school. We were in England for a week, and we played some archery games, really fun. The first game was: Choose your cutlery. You get 3 arrows, if you hit black, you'll get a...

    Amazed

I have only done archery in school. I have heard that the school equipment sucks. I wouldn't know. I tried out for our small school's Archery Team (only about 100 people in each class). I made it. That was one of the best moments of my life: shooting everyday after class...

bows, arrows and supplies each. My best mother & father's day idea ever! Hubby was surprised it was my idea. First ever real adult now for either of us.

    Late Start, But Oh Well!

Today has been the first time in a very long time that I've drawn a bow, and did I loose track of time and have fun trying to get the hang of shooting. I can say my favorite thing (so far) is the sound the arrow makes when it strikes the target. :-) I can't wait to get my own...

Want To Go To An Archery School Next Year

I always regretted that i have no proper hobby. I love doing many things but i wouldn't call any of them my hobby (ok maybe photography is). I wanted to choose something to do with sport but not something boring and common as jogging or joga. Archery really got my attention...

There's nothing like drawing down on your

target. The silent pull. The controlled breath. The steady hands. The release.

I recently posted a story about how I went to a

gun range, and well...kinda failed at gun-ness (Is that a word?) I do know my way around the longbow however, it feels so much lighter and more romantic than a gun, I don't know how it just feels that way lol

    Best… Shot.… Ever!

I was at my first archery class. It was my last shot, and that balloon was still there. I hadn't come very close to it in my last shots, but I wanted it to prove that coming late didn't make me any less an archer. My compound had two pins, green and red. I used the green to mark...

I'm accurate :D I was just out the other day messing with my bow, when my friend came up and we started target practice. The first target was some paper on a hay bale, which we both took turns shooting at and I managed to shoot directly into the middle of it, which I was...

I have a longbow that I named Little

Lamplighter. I love it, but I think I need to get heavier arrows, preferably ones with glued on tips, because I hate have to re-screw loose tips.
