 | thegypsy wrote on 07:47PM at Feb 18th, 2008 I think the dog whisperer is a load of crap, but what does work is using a spray bottle-- just spray the dog in the face when he is barking incessantly, and then praise him when he's quiet. It works for pretty much all dogs, even ones who don't mind water. And it's not harsh as far as punishment goes. If you yell at him while he's barking, to him it's basically like you're barking back at him, which encourages him to bark more. So I would stay away from that.
