    Still Cleaning Up The Yard

My yard is a mess from years of neglect.  I just cleaned out a corner today, and found a lot of empty pots. I usually have a lot of plants die because I just can't take care of them all, but I soon replace them.  I think I'm addicted to propagation.  I'm not...

    Indoor Water Garden

I'm trying to start an indoor water garden by using an old feed container. There's a pond nearby where I can collect a few minnows and wild aquatic flora. I also need some sort of pump/water filter so I won't have to keep scrubbing this thing clean every week or so. I guess we...

    It's a labor of love,

but living in the country has afforded me certain advantages. Every year I wait in excited anticipation to plan out our garden. It's become so relaxing, that I literally use it as an escape to alleviate stress. I love being able to connect and savor the peace and quiet. I'm...

    Spring Cleaning

This weekend was spent cleaning up the gardens and seeing what died/survived over the winter.  Surprisingly, only 2 varigated lariope didn't make it.  The gardens are coming in beautifully, though.  I've been working hard on developing perennials over the pasr...

The Color of Life Is Green.

I LOVE to garden. I just moved into a new house, and dinked around all summer. But now that I know what I'm going to do, I'll have a fruitful garden. ^.^ *squeals* I can't wait!

    A Question For The Greenthumbs

Would bamboo and strawberry plants grow well together in a planter?  In the spring I want to plant some bamboo on my small balcony and I love the idea of having strawberries as well, which I think would grow well there based on the climate here and some past experience. ...

    Green Thumb

I have worked in a garden since I was 8 years old. My folks had a big back yard in the country, we would plant a variety of vegetables and berries every year. The best was picking buckets of raspberries, and eating them by the handful. Same for eating peas right out of the pod...

    My Garden

Even as a very young child I loved gardening.  Over the last few years I have gardened for several elderly people - as well as looking after my own garden.  I do have 2 hens and 2 ducks that are free range - poultry and gardening do not mix very - so last year I built 2 raised...

    Developing A Green Thumb...

As a kid, I hated gardening. I hated helping my mom planting flours, or helping grandma attending to the vegetable patch. I repeatedly killed all the flowers in my room because I simply wasn't interested in them. Well, I guess I grew out of that. Last year, my wife and myself...
