    Seeing George's Show

I always wanted to see George live and a couple of years before he passed I had the chance. He appeared at Turning Stone Casino in Upstate New York and I enjoyed his show immensely. We were even treated to some brand new material he was working on. His sense of humor was unique.

    Can't Believe He's Gone

My older brother and I have always thought that George Carlin was the greatest by far. He was definitely the funniest comedian. I even bought "The Best of George Carlin" on DVD a few years ago. The man was a comic genious. He was downright hilarious. And, me and my big...

    Among the Greats

George Carlin was one of a very few comedians along with people like Lenny Bruce and Lewis Black, who moved stand up beyond simple jokes into something of an art form.  Even if you listen to his performances, he always held an almost rhythmical delivery and theatrical facial...

    George Carlin On War

I am about to quote, to the best of my recollection, what George Carlin said during one of his routines on HBO. I might not be getting the wording exactly right but I don't think I'd be completely changing the points he tried to make."During World War 1, the troops came down...

    Carlin Is Best, Hands Down

The man is without a doubt the greatest comedian to have ever lived. I base this on his lifetime of achievements in comedy and his intelligent sense of humor. For an individual to remain current and funny from an appearance in 1966 up to his last show in 2008, is a feat which no...

    What A Man

Hands down, my favorite stand up comedian of all time. There are plenty of comedians who are offensive. However, there are not many whose offensive content actually has a message (most of it is offensive just for the hell of it). I loved how he wasn't afraid to address taboo...

I Remeber It Like Yesterdays Dinner

    Greatest Compliment of My Life.

Back in the 80's I did a stint as a stand up comic at a club in New Jersey.  One of the regular comics there, who I thought was amazing, came to me one night after my set and told me that I not only reminded him of GC in my delivery, but that my material was almost as good.

I thoroughly enjoy the Flip Wilson reruns on

Aspire. George Carlin was not only a writer for the show but he was a character actor on this show too. I loved him as the news caster, hippy dippy weatherman, and as a sports reporter.

    Long Live The King!

George Carlin was the KING of comedy, commentary, and actually speaking the cold, hard truth--as bluntly and no-holds-barred-style as it was. You can't NOT love that quality in a person! If you don't love it--then you're about as closed-minded as a politician. Not good--no sirree...

My Favorite Comic, Poet, Sociologist, Etc...

I loved Carlin's views on society, culture and how they tie into language. A lot of people know him for his seven dirty words, but I enjoyed the words he said were harmful to society... euphemisms. He's totally right about it, too.
