    Using nature for recreation

and charging batteries is deep inside all Norwegians. Its the way we are. We do appreciate our nature. I hike , I use my boat . What I do not like is snowmobiles and water scooters. There is nothing to these but noise and that spoils the whole experience. I can enjoy nature...

    One Awesome Christmas Gift!

I discovered it as if it had been hidden and forgotten beneath the Christmas tree still waiting desperately to be opened.  Although, in reality, it was a front page story that I’d wandered across while sipping my coffee on the morning of the 27th.  There was a...

I got a wild hair yesterday and,

this morning at 7:30, hit the trail. Snow was still on the ground so I wore my boots - the boots that I haven't worn this year - so they ate my feet and I changed my target from arriving home around 2:00 to arriving home around noon. I made it back at 12:30.I took Bear Creek...

    Red Rocks, Denver, COI'm 62,

retired, and a cardiac patient. I have a personal stress test - an annual endurance hike. I figure that, if I survive, my heart is still in pretty good shape. This year I hiked from Denver up into the foothills and back. It was supposed to be a 26 mile hike (last year was 24...

    Hiking.

It's calming, peaceful, gives me my exercise, allows me to take pictures of the outdoors, gives time to myself, allows me to think, a breath of fresh air, time to listen to my ipod and sing where no one can hear me,take my dog for a walk, to get away from every day life...

I made a commitment to hike at least three

times a week. I want to feel and look healthy. I just went on my second hike of the week. It felt good puffing along the trail from how out of shape I am. But once I got to the top, it felt beautiful.
