    Gauge Swatch Allergy

I'm new-ish to knitting having only learned about two years ago and so far I have stuck to easier projects that don't require fit. I have done tons of shawls, scarves and slouchy hats so I think it's time to tackle a sweater. I have never done a gauge swatch and I'm plus sized...

I mostly knit sweaters in open lace design.

I use baby yarn. I make the sleeves and back solid for warmth.

My Invented Squares Into Squares Knitting Pattern (good For Knitting Blankets)

For all the ladies here who love to knit, especially if you love to knit squares for a blanket, I invented a square-into-square pattern where you can use any colors you like. To me it's verry easy to knit, and it's much better then knitting four squares that you have to sew...

I like to knit chunky scarves on thick needles

with heavy gauge wool. I can do knit stitch and purl, but I would love to learn how to knit properly and follow a pattern. Actually I would also like to have a knitting machine. I know that's cheating, but I would still like one. (Do they still make them, or was that an 80s...

    I'm A Yarn Nerd :-p

I've been knitting for over 15 years now, but strangely enough, I've only been doing the garter stitch in knitting dishcloths and scarves.  It was only this past month that I learned the purl stitch/stockinette stitch, and so I knitted some hats - very poor excuses of hats, but...

    Still A Newbie

I recently went down to visit my parents and there house is boring to say the least. However mum like me is really crafty, so she taught me how to knit. I am currently on my first project of making a scarf but it seems to be taking forever. I really enjoy this and it is...

    Knitting Is Awesome!

I've been knitting for about 7 or 8 years now, and have made tons of hats, scarves and 1 dress. I've also made socks, but they're certainly not up to par. I have to tube part down pat, but when it comes to the heels, I mess up every single time, and it comes out looking like a...

    I Make My Own Designs

I use a commercial pattern as a base, but make my own designs. One of my earliest was a Space Invader sweater for a young cousin. Other projects are 3 patchwork sweaters, lace ones, a Scrabble board, and domino game.

Hi all, My Nan taught me to knit when I was a younster..Then I didn't knit again until I was 29...I always find it therapeutic to knit..especially when its something easy like a garter stitch scarf so I can just clse my eyes and drift a bit..atleast until I drop a stitch! I am...

    Self Taught

I am slowing teaching myself how to knit.. I do crochet and I recently just started back doing it. I find that when I am stressing it relaxes me and allowes me to give that energy to my project.

    I'm Self Taught.

I started really badly with a very old learn-to-knit pamphlet but quickly graduated to youtube, knittinghelp, and new stitch a day. It's one of my favorite activities and has gotten me through a lot. It's been therapeutic and useful and all around self-esteem building. I've even...

I'm knitting a quilt for my first child. I'm not pregnant now, and I don't plan to for a while. But I do love my child(ren), even if they don't exist yet. The quilt is beautiful. It has brown, pinks, and oranges in it in a diagonal pattern.

Ok, since I've been under "medical" house

arrest I've taken up knitting. I already had the supplies from a few years ago when I wanted to make myself a hat, but I got so annoyed by it I rage quit. Now it's the only thing to keep my mind off the pain. All I need is a good show on Netflix and no interruptions and I'll go...

    I Like To Knit

Even though i knit things for giants, or sometimes brownies, i think I'm actually pretty descent. I haven't gotten to Fair Isle status though. That is yet another mountain to climb. Knitting is something i have become good at an actually enjoy doing like painting. Im currently...

I'm currently working on knitting several

wildlife nests for the wildlife rehab I work at. They require a very tight knit so the animals claws do not get stuck in them. For this project I've been using cotton yarn on bamboo needles. The trouble is, this yarn is "sticky" (for lack of a better word) and it's putting a...

In a Feeble Attempt to Ignore the Pain Inside

I don't know why but I took up this hobby as a way to occupy my mind. If I'm trying to figure out a pattern, I'm not thinking of anything else. My heart hurts. The one I want to love me, just won't. He keeps me going enough to barely hang on. Not a week goes by though that he...
