    Papa'S Stories

My Papa, my dad's father, is absolutely one of my heroes in life. He served in the military in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was decorated and well respected and told the BEST stories. I remember I'd sit on his lap when I was a little girl and laugh as he told me about all...

Always An Interesting Glimpse Into The Past

As a kid, I always hated hearing those stories about how such and such cost a nickel and how you could get a steak dinner for a quarter. Those stories were kind of pointless when the cost of living was so much lower. However, I did enjoy the random stories about the experiences...

    I Wish I'd Listened ...

When I was young it was always a chore to listen to elderly relatives' stories.  Now I am older I wish I had listened more while they were still alive.  All the wonderful rich history which is bound up in their memories is lost once they are gone. I had an uncle who...

    A Good Memory

I like hearing the stories seniors tell. It's like being right there in their memory. You get to hear all their experiences the good and the bad. They have a lot of fascinating stories to tell and it feels good for them to know that someone cares and wants to hear them. I feel we...

The older generation have a lot to share.

They've learned all about life and usually the hard way. They were hard working... blood, sweat & tears. They were very responsible & believed in helping their fellow man. The things they could tell you of days gone by if you just took the time to sit for awhile.
