    Seashells? I Think Not!

What I don't understand is why so many artists draw mermaids with seashells over their breasts or even (God forbid!) bikini tops. Mermaids are not humans and have no need for your ill-conceived human modesty.

    Life Long Fascination

I have always been fascinated by mermaids ever since I was a young child. I loved the water and I always knew there were mysteries beneath the surface. I remember seeing a mermaid in Hawaii, where I used to live, when I was young. I couldn't see her features since she was so...

general is because I had a female friend who was obsessed with mermaids when she was younger, she was a redhead and during summer, her family would get the swimming pool out and she would pretend to be a mermaid. She loved the movie The Little Mermaid in fact, I saw the...

I think they are an analogy

for my life... Part one thing, part something else... Attractive on top, deceptive below... Never to be happy out of water in a relationship... Always hiding a secret while trying to appear normal... I pity them... I feel the same pain they live with daily.

    Real Mermaids Online

I love the David Delamare Mermaid series, both beautiful and erotic.  Perhaps our infinitile baby brains subconsciously remember our mothers, all upper body, no legs.  Perhaps Mermaids are just real, but out of sight. I also absolutely adore the artist Hannah...

Originally, mermaids symbolized the divine aspect of human nature. Fish are an ancient symbol of abundance, creativity, wisdom, and renewal. The combination of a fish tail and a female torso and head could be interpreted as a goddess symbol, or a powerful rendering of female...

    Grace By The Sea

This story will go long with the story I posted in "I love watching the waves roll off the ocean". I have always admired the grace and the quietness of the water. I have always imagined a mermaid, gracefully gliding in the water with her long hair flowing all around her fins and...

I Wanted To Be A Mermaid

When I was a little girl, I wanted to be a mermaid/able to live underwater so that I didn't have to go to school, could dive down to ruined cities and could spend my days playing with the whales and dolphins. I'm now a grown-up and I'm still fascinated by mermaids.
