Coming from North Wales we are absolutely

surrounded by very old castles. That was sort of the point of them anyway but that's another story. Having so much history on my doorstep combined with the stunning scenery is a godsend. Its so nice to step out of your door, into your car and be able to be inside the walls of...

I live myself in a 500 years old house.

I just LOVE old buildings, and I love exploring old castles. I like the feeling of ancient times and very often when I am in an old castle or an old church I am wondering what they have experienced in the last 100 years and what the walls would tell me if they just could speak...

    Gothic cathedrals are truly amazing.

Its a miracle that they are still standing. The story behind them is pretty interesting too. Measurements were taken from the bible and used to make gothic cathedrals (144 cubits high, I believe), and when you look at the floorplans, it's in the shape of the Christian cross.

    Just Saying

I love old churches and castles. I would like one day to move to France, buy an old chateau with some property and grow some grapes for wine. Maybe even eventually, buy a little old castle that needs some work. In the meantime, I'll just settle for a honeymoon where I get to...

I love the fact that I live in England

where these are in abundence. I'm in awe of the architecture, how long it must have taken to build, the carvings of the stone, everything placed immaculately. I could wonder around these buildings for hours and just be dazzled.

Sacre Coeur Is My Favorite So Far

    Unique Welsh Chapel

St. Govan's Point is the most southerly point on the Pembrokeshire coast. Nearby is St. Govan's Chapel and holy well. Most of the chapel dates from the thirteenth century, but parts of it - the altar and a seat cut in the rock - may be much earlier, possibly even as early as the...

    Love Old Churches

I love to visit old churches. It helps me to feel calm.  I suppose it's the spirituality that I am responding to.  And, the architecture is usually amazing.

I love old castles and churches with thick

stone walls, covered with moss, showing the passing of time, some parts of them even crumbled down due to the exposure to weather elements ot the destruction caused by some war.

    Early Childhood Memories ...

Some of my early childhood memories are of an old, majestic church. It was all brick, marble, stone and concrete with two bell towers and a huge basement. I grew up just a block away and as kids we had practically exclusive off-duty use of the place. The neighborhood kids were...

I Would Like To Go To Blandings Castle

    Old Stone Church

I live in an Old Stone Church. I have spent the last ten years renovating it. It was condemnable when we bought it, but I could see it was structurally sound, the private rural location by the lake made it perfect for a person capable of a mountain of work. It's done now for the...
