Ummm, More of a Love/hate Relationship...

I've taken up running again as one component to get me back into shape. I've been at it for about 4 weeks and I slowly feel it growing on me, although I still look at it as a necessary evil, a means to an end if you will. However, I don't want to hate it forever. I like the...

Starting back up again after a long break due to weather and injury, my knees finally feel up to the task. cold as heck. But I feel good now!

    Committing Myself, Giving Myself Obligations.

I used to enjoy running. Mum got me into it when she was giving up smoking, she wanted a buddy… I was young and foolish enough to either agree or go along with it. In the end it was a very good thing. We worked our way from no-running lazy-bones up to regularly running...

    Addicted

I never thought I could run. I tried a few years ago and quit after a short while. Too far, too fast. I burned out. About two years ago, I tried again, and I learned to really listen to my body and not push it. Doing not enough was definitely better than doing too much, in...

    I Never Thought I'd Say

I like running. I hated it as a child. I couldn't breath right and I wasn't very good at it. I'd rather do a martial art or play on slides and swings. But I decided I wanted to get into shape a couple years ago. There's a hiking trail in my province that I wanted to be able to...

That feeling. The wind blowing in your face,

the birds chirping, your legs getting more and more tired as you continue onwards.. the sun beating down on your face, until when you almost reach the end of your destination. That's when you give it your all.. run until your feet feel like they're going to fall off. That pain...

    I have been running again

for over 2 years now. I go to the gym and run on the treadmill 3 or more times each week. I walk for a quarter of a mile then run for 3.1 miles and then walk until my 40 minute work out is done.

    Running Lessons

I learned more from observing one "real man" than anything else. Sir Charles (Charley) Mac Mullen. A running fool. He was in my book an exemplary human being. Charley not only fought the running record books, he wound up fighting some bad asse disease too. One of a very very...

    Running: Breaking Fifty

Very few people in our society look forward to getting older. Oh, it's true, adolescents yearn to cross the 16, 18 and 21 age barriers which bring (or at least legitimize) a variety of privileges together with lessening of parental control. At the other end, some people look...
