    The Modern Day Prometheus

It will be impossible not to sound gushy when I talk about Sci-Fi. Be warned I like to believe that good Sci-Fi is prophecy. A stone mad, bug-eyed, sign-wearing, prophet, crying on the corner.  But he's not crying doom, he is saying: "We will survive our...

    Love Reading Sci-fi

It would be my first choice.  I love stories about outer space & aliens.  Especially if they are good aliens.  I like to read what the author comes up for their culture & quirks.  There is one book I read, [will add title, later], it is about a hospital...

Not All Sci-fi Is Created Equal

In the case of books If I like the first chapter I read it.  Regarding TV or movies I am more picky it really needs to caught my eye and there aren't many that have done it.

I've been writing tidbits of Science Fiction lately...I've been enjoying science fiction movies...I've also been reading some science fiction. What have I been writing about? That's for me to know. ;) What movies? The last one I can think of actually enjoying watching was The...

Arthur C. Clarke is absolutely brilliant

and I can't believe I only started to read his work earlier this year. Don't watch SyFy's childhood's end, it's absolute crap but the book was gorgeous!

Our best ideas come from science fiction.

I absolutely love Ender's Game and American Gods. When I'm writing I find it difficult to not steal ideas from those two books.

Bit Of An All Round Sci-fi Geek.

I'm a bit of an all-round Sci-Fi geek when it comes to all things science-fiction. I don't have a particular series or movie that I would say is my all time favourite but I do hold a few of the classics a little higher than others. I wouldn't say I'm a massive trekkie although I...

    A Misplaced Consensus

I think for the majority of the public, as soon as they hear the words Science-Fiction or Sci-Fi, Star Trek is immediately drawn to the forefront of their minds. A lot of people like to say they hate this genre because the "worlds, characters and storylines seem lame." To me, Sci...

Yes Women Do Love Sci Fi :)

I love when clueless people tell me to my face that women don't like science fiction. These people have an amazing ability to not believe their eyes, which is the only way I can explain what's happening when somebody says to my face that women like me don't exist.    ...

when my dad handed me a smallish book written by Robert A Heinlein. Star Beast was the first but not the last. I have since read all Heinlien's books, all Theodore Sturgeon, all Jules Verne, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Philip Jose Farmer, most of Piers Anthony, and the list goes on...

I Wish There Were More Good Tv Shows and Movies..

The genre doesn't seem to be as popular as it was in the 1950s and 60s.. there are fewer influential/substantial novels, and in multimedia it has become marginal at best. I want more! :) I can get why some of the speculative stuff isn't popular (and marketable) with the current...
