I Like Serene and Quiet Places

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 7,655 People

I purposely chose to go to the University I go

to because it's located in the Appalachian mountains, and I am literally surrounded by mountains, trees, lakes and waterfalls. It's an absolutely beautiful place and if I feel the need to get away, I can just hop in my car and drive for a few minutes until I find a trail, and...

After years of feeding on the energy of big

cities, I escaped and now live in a quiet rainforest retreat, with palms, trees and ferns as my backdrop and no neighbours for almost half a mile. I think so clearly amongst the natural vibe and energy of the forest. The birds love to come and see me and I sometimes have...

    I Don't

A forgotten part of the park.

Your room. That spot/corner in the library or bookstore. That seat in class by the window. There's tons of quiet and serene places, but even the loudest place can have a fragment of serenity. I hate concerts, they're loud. But another might think they're peaceful, or...

I'd have to say my favorite "quiet" place would

be one of the few Japanese gardens we have in the city. Mornings are nice. Right when it opens. You have the older men and women come for their morning walk/yoga, don't make as much noise as the photographers and families. I love sitting at the end of the garden. At the edge of...
