I Like Stargazing

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 279 People

If you've read any of my other stories you'll have probably guessed that I'm a hopeless romantic, so I guess stargazing come with the conventional images. Stargazing with the one I love would be amazing and magical, so much so that it lights butterflys in my stomach. It'd be hard...

    Heaven's Glass Floor

I recently took a trip to Arizona, and at the resort I was staying at, they had stargazing as one of the activities. I've never seen a clearer snapshot of the sky than I have in the Arizona desert. To top it off, they had these HUGE multi-thousand dollar telescopes, and...

There is nothing so humbling as sitting on the beach, or on top of your car on a dark backstreet, and watching the universe pass by in such slow motion that it doesn't even know you exist. It should make me feel alone and worthless, to know that I am nothing more than speck...

    Sprawled In My Yard

Whenever I can, I lay in my backyard, looking at the stars.  I know some of the constellations, and am working to learn more. The words don't really matter, though. What matters is the cool-damp of grass beneath me, the sighing of trees and shrubs nearby.  What matters is the...

    Las Estrellas. Yes. Oh Yes.

When I was younger, I used to sit on the porch and just stare up at the sky. Sitting in the backseat of the car, on the freeway, coming back from the city, often, I'd find myself looking up at the sky. At home, all alone, I'd peek out the window. Searching. Wondering. Wishing...

The night sky really is a beautiful thing. The stars are like millions of pinholes, I think. Whats really interesting is that they're so far away that the star you're looking at may be long gone and its light has just arrived.

    Not The Only Ones

Viewing endless hours of constellations and galaxies through the wonderful world of You Tube I must say there is no way we are the only humanoid lifeforms in the universe. I can stare at the sky for hours upon hours and never be bored as there is always a new star that hasnt...

    Shooting Stars and Fuzzy Eyes

We have a trampoline out in the backyard. It sits there unused most of the time. The safety mats around the springs are all cracked and brittle and dead leaves gather on the mat. At times I feel guilty and so I go out and give the old thing a workout, but most of the time I...
