My challenge this year (new yr resolution) has

been to prepare ALL of our meals without ANY genetically modified ingredients. So far, so good! Now, of course, Jon has eaten at the pub quite often and we've eaten food prepared by others. So, perhaps we've ingested a small amount of gmo. But the amount has been minimal...

    It's a beautiful November evening.

Today was filled with sunshine and the colors of the leaves contrasted against a clear blue sky. Since we just turned our clocks back, it was dark by 5:30. The fall weather and early darkness makes me want to make soup, stew, pot roast, pie, bread....mmmmm. Tonight I decided to...

so I like to cook, but I'm terrible at it.

the other day I wanted to make spaghetti and the recipe said "boil the pasta" so I put those long pasta noodle things in the kettle and I boiled them. and it didn't work, turns out, you have to actually boil them in a pot on the stove. ??

    Very simple delicious pizza.

.. I start out with a flat bread. I use FlatOut Italian flat bread. but you can use any you like. Naan bread is also a good choice if you like the crust a bit thicker. yes, I know it is from India, but it is delicious. Then add pizza sauce. Something generic but decent is fine...

I make this shepherd's pie but instead of beef it's more like a turkey dinner. Turkey, beans, stuffing, the works. It comes out really really good if I don't say so myself!
