As it is steadily snowing a lot outside,

I think it is stew weather so I threw into a big stew pot the following: chicken, carrots, turnip, potatoes, leak, pearl onions, chicken stock, vegetable stock, turmeric, black pepper, cumin, garlic, basil, and thyme. And all this is stewing now. I look forward to it.

But hate cleaning so I think I'm going to whip

up some fancy Thai food, walk into the kitchen, remember what a pain in the *** doing dishes is, and end up eating a can of ravioli. Making my mother proud one processed can of dinner at a time.

    Sometimes I mess up,

but most of the time I don't. But that's not what matters. What matters is if I've enjoyed making the food and if the people I'm cooking for like it as well.

I love to cook and to try out new recipes.

Recently my husband was diagnosed with high blood pressure, so I am now trying to learn to cook without salt and without using a lot of prepared foods. Anyone who has any links to any good sites for healthy recipes pls pass them along :)

    I enjoy it although cooking

for only one can be a drag sometimes. I like trying new recipes and making old favorites. It is nice when I make enough to have leftovers too. I do a fair share of my cooking in a slow cooker, but make some casseroles and skillet meals as well.

Dinner tonight was mirin glazed salmon.

I got this recipe from my newly acquainted aunt, who in turn got it from the Nigella Express recipe book. It is sooo good. I had it with freshly sliced fennel and curly kale. My kids had it with regular greens (of course).
