    I'll Do All the Cooking

I've been cooking virtually my whole life. I come from a family where most of the men know how to cook. I like it so much that I considered going to chef's school. What always stops me is I worry that if it becomes my job then I won't want to do it in my leisure life. I love...

Cooking somehow makes me feel more alive.

The different textures, flavours, smells and colours all amalgamated from your imagination simply livens my soul. And the best part is after you've made it, that sweet sound of the first bite people take and then look at you like you've just invented fire is simply amazing! Haha...

My challenge this year (new yr resolution) has

been to prepare ALL of our meals without ANY genetically modified ingredients. So far, so good! Now, of course, Jon has eaten at the pub quite often and we've eaten food prepared by others. So, perhaps we've ingested a small amount of gmo. But the amount has been minimal...

    Ok recipe time folks.

This is more or less my current signature dish. However my method of measuring tends to be "Until enough" or "until it feels/smells right". This makes it hard to do but always fun and tasty. The dish is simple enough, take a salmon steak, put it in a pan with 10+ peeled garlic...

Made some honey garlic chicken tonight

and it came out amazing!!! I am so happy my cousin gave me the idea. The sauce only consisted of chopped garlic, hot sauce and honey boiled together for about 3 minutes and then glazed over baked or fried wings. It is something all should try if you like wings! :)

    Walmart bacon wrapped steaks,

aka the chef choice steaks, 2 for $5. They are steak on a budget. I tend to fry them in a pan after rolling them around in olive oil, cumin, a just a pinch of nutmeg, along with a bunch of other spices. Also a lot of garlic, but that is not because of the steak, that is because...

I like to cook nice meals.

I find it so much easier to cook meals for more than 1 but I live on my own. It just seems like a bit of a waste to go to the effort of cooking good meals when I am just cooking for myself. For that reason sometimes I slack off and just do simple stuff. I hate the days of no...
