Anyone reading any of this Authors books. I read his "Earth" book first and am now reading the "Power of Now".  Interesting take on what he calls the "pain body"

Hello!

I am currently reading POWER OF NOW & am getting quite a bit out of it! It's a very slow read for me because I really like to stop & savor his ideas & theories.  For example "pain body" I believe, is when we feel that familiar "twinge" that mean we have allowed someone else's verbalized thought/opinions harm us in some way, then chose to 'lash out' as opposed to simply observe our own related feelings, then let those feelings fall away, much like shedding an old skin.  Just because someone chooses to attack, does not mean we can allow them to control our personal response.  PAIN BODY is the ego-in-charge, attacking back! We are all guilty of this from time-to-time, even people who are predominately enlightened! There is no permanently enlightened state (except perhaps death of the physical, & even THEN perhaps not!), depending on our mood, state of mind, stress levels, physical well-being, is how well we are in-the-know & in the state of observance when it comes to our pain bodies.  I just try to BREATHE when I feel my pain body/ego creeping in; I do alot of yoga & other exercise, so my breath is my balance, thus allowing me to utilize it as a balance when it comes to old pain & ego or negativity.  As for negative individuals, I try to be aware, then allow them their space-a lot of space! Thoughts? I love this book! It has helped me sharpen my focus exceedingly!

My mood: very calm

Did you learn about the first book from the OPRAH show? Did you join the weekly evening shows they had on Monday nights?
I read the first book. It was pretty good. The funny part was while I was reading the book I knew all the stuff he was talking about. I 've told friends of my thoughts over the years, they were creeped out a little when they read the book because it sounded like many of the things I had talked about.
I haven't seen the new book you posted about. Can you elaborate more about it. What does it say about how to let go and what to do when you have been hurt by other people?
