    Raised By The Railroad Line

I literally have always lived near railroad tracks for as long as I can remember. I guess it explains why the sight of a train makes me feel right at home. I even want to work for a railroad one day and maybe, just maybe, do what so many african Americans were never able to do...

I Have Been Fortunate To Always Live Near A Railroad.

Ever since I was a little kid I have been interested in trains. And I have always lived close enough that at the very least I could hear them. Whenever I am caught at a grade crossing (especially since I'm retired and am not rushing to a job) I am pleased. I'm not a car counter...

Ever since I was a lad of 5 I have loved trains,

the way they look, the way they sound, the way you could travel on them for so cheap. Nowadays the sound of air horns still excite me and I still love seeing trains snake through the countryside. Ahh, trains...

    Some Unexplainable Feeling

    Sunday. Such A Sad Day

For some reasons Sunday nights seem especially hard to bear. Another week has gone by w/no positive results. No religious sermons please. Its not my way. If I were to believe in God then I would feel abandoned. I'm serious-leave me alone! I would like to take this moment to...

Well, I don't like trains so much as train tracks. I've always held a deep fascination for them. I like to drive over them. I like to look at them. I like to walk on them. There's just something beautiful about them that I can't quite describe. One of my friends and I used to...

    4 Lines Within 2 Miles

I within 2 miles of four different train lines,  true 3 are only branch lines and only one is a main line.  There is no better sound to fall asleep to in a 100 car freight train coming down the track.

    To Put It Briefly:

    The Trains In Spain ...

... are mainly on the plain? Perhaps. On a recent trip to Spain we took both high-speed and slow trains. Between Barcelona and Madrid the train had a screen that showed the speed, and we mostly were doing between 275 and 300 km/h (almost 200 mph). (The screen did not photograph...

    Trains > Planes

I have no idea why I love trains so much. To me, getting on a train is just so adventurous. I've only had the privilege of traveling by a real train once when I went to California. Getting to watch the country side change, hearing the slight clatter of the tracks, and jumping...

    Travelling Down The Line

I like trains (which I guess is no surprise here) for various reasons. Kind of hard to cover all of them as I can't pin down any one reason. I guess as a child that was the way we, as a family, went on any long journeys as my father was never a keen driver. So some of the places...
