    Weeping Willows As Colonial Icons

I love weeping willow trees not only for their stately grace and loveliness, but also for their place in one of my favorite periods in history, the American Colonial era. Weeping willows were depicted on early gravestones as symbols of mourning and loss, and as a popular motif in...

Always Remind Me of Love Stories

The characters are always running around, meeting underneath or viewing them in the distance. They are so soft looking and seem to be made just so people can paint them. Not my favorite tree, but one that conjures up romantic ideas.

    Tree of Sorrow

Sometimes I wonder if planting a weeping willow tree will take away the horrible sadness that seems to overwhelm me anymore.  I love the way they look and maybe growing something beautiful will give me some happiness in my life.

I do find weeping willow trees to be very beautiful and calming...I should like the tree anyhow considering my name is Willow though x)But, it really is like my favorite tree, in fact, my father proposed to my mother underneath a willow tree, hence my name, of course.

    The Irony Of The Willows

“The weeping willows, on the other hand, are evocative of death. They are a little contrived, a little exaggerated, still green in the middle of all the colors of autumn, and there is a human pathos to them.” - Joseph Roth
