The Willow Tree A Most Powerful Symbol For Acceptance And Ownership

Here is an excerpt of a screed I wrote to accept choices made from my perspective of a forty something mother wondering what my place was in this existence now my children had left and how I viewed my life progressing with the inevitable sacrifices we make or believe we make as...

    Weeping Willows

on the river Thames I have seen them standing so alone. as a child I sat beneath them on a Virginia shore, they say that one willow drinks so much water and has roots so deep, plant one not so close to your house or damage it will do you, such a beautiful tree, it reminds me...

I remember when I was younger how sad they

looked. I used to want to swing from them because the long things made it look like I could but I couldn't. The whatever those hanging things are called were weak and shed into my hands a lot, plus it hurt trying to hang on to them. So from then on I just ignored them. I still...

    Wise Trees!

I love these tress so much. They're so wise and full of knowledge, if you know how to listen to them. They remind me of beautiful kind grandmother, who likes to give advice all the time. ;-) Yes, I am a tree-hugger! =p

    My Weeping Willow Tree!

Somewhere within my heart unknowingly,  A weeping willow had taken roots secretly! It got nurtured over the years by my forlorn and sad thoughts;  By many heartaches and unrequited love, - The mind seemed to have forgot!  Now the willow has become a full grown  tree!  It...

    Weeping Willows

I don't know of any in this area, but they sure are beautiful trees. I use to go for walks with my family where I use to live, and there was a yard with weeping willows. It was beautiful. I absolutely loved it. Walking past it made me feel happy inside. It was lovely.

    Wisconsin Weeping Willow

So simple to propagate , such a fast growing tree , easy to take care of , all they ask is water . It can go from a stick in the dirt to a small tree 10' tall in just a few years . Then the reward of a windy day , watching it sway , hearing the rustle of the leaves , sounding...

    Love Them, Really

I thinking weeping willows are among the most beautiful trees. My house use to be surrounded by them when I was around 13, and I could see them through my room and bathroom. I'd just look into them. They looked exactly like me. They were chopped down for selfish reasons-- ALL OF...

    Weeping Willows As Colonial Icons

    The Irony Of The Willows

“The weeping willows, on the other hand, are evocative of death. They are a little contrived, a little exaggerated, still green in the middle of all the colors of autumn, and there is a human pathos to them.” - Joseph Roth

    Childhood Memories

One of these spectacular trees grew over a bridge on my childhood home farm. We'd pull just a few leaves from it every time we rode under on the back of the ute. A flood killed this tree, and it made me sad. I'm ashamed to say I pulled branches off, but this tree helped me make...
