    Beautiful Loser

Is there anything else in the world to listen that is more fulfilling than a Leonard Cohen song? His songs are deep, mystical, beautifully written and funny.  Cohen's sense of human is vastly underrated.  Too many people take his songs as just being morose.  But a good listen...

    Ode to Leonard

Leonard Cohen is sacred to me. His music, his words, his songs, all of it I treasure.  I have all of his albums and can get lost in the music.  Bird on a Wire ..so perfect..  .. "like a beast with his horn, I  have torn everyone who reached out...

He's In the Top of My Tower of Song

I had never really heard of Leonard Cohen until I met my partner. She is obsessed with him, and I have adopted the obsession. Now we listen to his CD once or twice through, once or twice a week. We love every one, except for the one that says "Take This Waltz" or something...

...but I'm Puzzled By People's Reactions.

I only discovered his music a few years ago.  He has a great voice, and I love to listen and sing along.  (I'm also a bass.)  I'm surprised that when I shared his music with friends, many of them found it depressing.  Said they didn't like the slow, deep voice...

    NY Times Reviews Thursday's Concert

By NATE CHINEN  Published: February 20, 2009 Leonard Cohen kept returning to the stance of a supplicant at the Beacon Theater on Thursday night, dropping to one knee, or both, to intone his wry and ruminative songs. At the same time, he basked in the rapture...

    Everybody Knows

I think it's awesome that he and Janis had a little somethin' goin on. His songs about her are touching. They recently did a tribute movie/concert to him. And some of my favorite people were there: Rufus Wainwright in particular. Everyone who likes Cohen should check it out...
