I Listen to And/or Spin Vinyl Records

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 197 People

    1987 To Present

Crappy photo taken with my old cell phone. I got my first record player in 1987.  I was four years old, and it was a little plastic portable toy of a record player, but it played 33s and 45s.  Later that year, I got a hand-me-down stereo system when my parents bought a new...

    Vinyl-y Goodness!

I've been listening to vinyl on and off for about a decade and while I'm not particularly active in acquiring vinyl, I love the thrill of coming home with something.  I almost excusively buy vinyl from thrift stores and antique malls and I generally look for some...

    It's Coming Back!

More and more albums are being released on vinyl these days, and I am thrilled. Admittedly I'd be more thrilled if they were a wee bit cheaper, but hey, it's a start, right? I'm also addicted to the equipment. Consoles are my favourite, with the exception on my Sansui...

    Best Sound

Once I was able to afford a high end stereo I wasn't quite happy with the sound of the re-mastered cd's.  I was talked into getting a turntable and got hooked.  The sound from the album had real depth and it was clear to me that this was the sound I was missing...
