I Could Be Home Right Now! Hang-on, I Am!

I've grown to love my apartment, it's the one in the group logo, I am on the 19th floor...love it. It's convenient, it's busy, there's always something to see...harbour views, fast food on the same block...Luxury. It’s great, but change is on the horizon. Another...

At first it was great to live in an apartment but now that I have a young child it seems to be a burden living here. I hope to buy a house soon so that my son can play in the yard.

    Bought A House!!

After 27 1/2 years I'm moving out of the apartment! Man, I never knew I had so much junk. And I never knew having a house would mean so much work. But I love it. I will miss listening to my neighbors through the walls. I won't miss smelling their cooking.

    Take a Look

Today I get to wonder if my apartment is one which will be used by my complex for assessment.  The tax assessor is supposed to inspect apartment complexes in order to determine the next year's rate for the management. I had someone look in once. At least I was home...

    And I Hate It

I sit here writing this at 4:40 am after having spent the last two hours listing to my neighbors' party. They've been carrying on all night without regardĀ for how loud they are nor how many people they are disturbing. I went over and talked to them a few minutes ago and asked...

Apartment Life: Pros And Cons (Mostly Cons)

Ahhh apartment life. Why am I here in an apartment after owning a house? Well, my husband's business crashed and here we are. Right back where we started - with a daughter, now, 2 cats and gerbils (shhhh..the animals aren't really allowed). And it sucks...kind of.....so...

    Small But Required For Work

As i work full time and study part time at present i live in apartment in city centre, so that i am convenient to everything that i need, such as university and my office.  I do crave a garden, a space of my own outside, as i love the outdoors.

    Boxed In

I really hate living in apartments or shared living arrangements.... it was great when i was young, but now all i really want is a house- with lots of room for all my junk! Okay, most of it isn't junk, just knickknacks that need shelving.. And i'd like to have enough bookshelves...

    Good Enough For Me

Sometimes I wish I owned my own home so I could own land to grow a garden on and build a treehouse on, but then I think about how that's really more of a "want" than a "need", and I remind myself that an apartment is just fine for me for now.

    Inner City Living

I live in a one bedroom apartment close to the city. I rarely use my car and rely on public transport or walking to get around. I am close to lots of great restaurants and bars and I am loving the lifestyle. I am never alone as I share with 96 other apartments although I haven't...

I live in a small complex of 'cookie-cutter' apartments. I don't mind my closet-sized apartment much except when my neighbors breathe. I can hear them ****, walk, shower, vaccum, and saw pipes at seven in the morning. Also, when i'm up late I can hear people running through the...

    Lived In 3 So Far

    It Works For Me

I actually sold my one story house to buy an apartment and I like it because:  I don't have to paint the exterior,  I don't have to worry about leaks in the roof, I just have to pay the mortgage and the Homeowners Association fee every month and I am set.  Well I...

    Not Enough Room.

My boyfriend and I live in an apartment. We have lived in a few different apartments in the past year and a half. Once we had an apartment in a house which was much bigger than what we have now, but it wasn't in a very nice neighborhood. Now, we pay too much for too little space...

    Quiet Sex

And it sucks. Too many people. I live in a lower income apartment, to make it worse, so there are vandals and drug dealers. But worst of all, I can't scream during sex. Last time I did, the neighbors banged on the ceiling and yelled "Whoo-hoo!" Now I'm self-conscious...

    ...and Don't Like It X.x

I don't particularly enjoy apartments. They're functional, but either too small, not private enough, or some other problem with it. In this one, it's the landlady. She's a jerk. x.x

    Bad Luck With Apartments

Ever since I moved to U.S.A I had problems with my apartments. The first one I moved into was in San Jose California, and it wasn't that bad at first. I had a 700 sf apartment that cost 2000 which I thought was a little high but it was normal for the area. I guess they...

My (always noisy) neighbors upstairs decided to

get completely wasted tonight. Lots of running and yelling.... Also lots of falling. So far it's 2:00 AM and been going on since 10:00. I would say something to them but, ya know, drunk people don't tend to respond well to criticism. Maybe I should just record them being loud...

I have a question about what I can do about my

    Not a Big Building

I live in a old house of stone, renewed and separated in several apartments. So it's not a "jail building". I feel ok there, but i'd like to move. I don't know if I will, that depends on, well, how life is going to sway.

    Getting Used to It Again

The first time I lived in an apartment, I learned some valuable lessons: - If you live on the ground floor, people WILL try to look in your windows. At 3 in the morning. - And if you live on the ground floor, your upstairs neighbors will sound like they live in--and frequently...

My new neighbor leaves sticky notes on my door

every day. Note #1 toddlers nape time and all the things all neighbors should not do during this time! #2 we should all decide on a central time to vacuum so that we don't have to hear each other vacuuming. I had a good suggestion for that one, but still waiting on that response...

CAN'T Wait to Get a House!

Don't get me wrong, apartments are nice for some things, and certainly some stages of life. They are nice for free utilities, I've always had free heat and water. I got lucky with this apartment and I have central air (I think that's what it's called. Basically I don't have that...

I Don't Now Why Anyone Would Think This Is Special

If you're under 30 it's simply the only option you have. It's not like a bank would give me a mortgage for a house, I don't even have a living parent to co-sign, not that Dad would have when he was alive, he wouldn't co-sign on anything with me
