It'S So Much Nicer Than You'D Think

As a child of the 70s in Europe, I used to imagine China as an Asian Soviet Union in every way before moving there. I was expecting to find cold, grey concrete tower cities with pitiful stores selling the odd jar of pickled pig intestine and some cleaning alcohol one may, in...

    I live in Hangzhou, China

which is famous for the West Lake and it's very beautiful. I have been to couple of cities in China including Chengdu, Shanghai, Jinhua, Ningbo, etc. There are so many places I want to pay a visit to, have you been to China for a tour?

Sent From Zhengzhou, Henan, Pr China

I've been an English teacher here in Henan province for over 2 years. It's an area that's still developing unlike Shanghai, or Beijing, but it really gives you a real taste of Chinese culture and traditions. Not a week goes by when I don't hear firecrackers go off for a wedding...

Me too. Been here over 3 years now

and have no plans to go back home to the UK anytime soon. When I arrived I couldn't speak a word of the lingo but now my Mandarin is pretty fluent. I also have a good job, a Chinese girlfriend and am very happy here.

    My Thoughts

I've been living in China for almost a decade in several different cities, and while this is a very interesting place to live and I have many local friends there is a real moral bankruptcy in, at least, the major cities. People care for their families and friends, but the...
