I kept seeing you sitting on the edge of

that bed blowing me a kiss. I was so sure that if I walked back onto that ward, you would still be there and everything would be the same. No change. Sometimes I feel I've come to an acceptance in my mind, but then I'm screaming hysterically in my dreams, surrounded by darkness...

I lost my grandpa (Papa) to cancer 3 years ago.

Yesterday we found out my grandma has it in her liver, meaning that it was likely found way too late. I'm not ready to go through this shock and pain again. I haven't even fully accepted that my Papa is gone. I woke up and sobbed over him for hours a few a months ago, it's like...

Three days before my friend Steve died,

he demanded for me to take him to Walmart. I went and spoke to his Nurses and they thought for a bit...and I signed Steve out for 3 hours. Walmart was just down the road. He handed me a list and I got him into the electric chair and he told me he had a few things he wanted to...

    I am a cancer survivor.

Not because I had cancer, but because my sister died of cancer. It has been two years and more often than not, people will always say that "It's okay, she is no longer suffering now/she's in a better place." There's nothing wrong with that. Sometimes people just do not know...

Four years ago, my best friend died of cancer.

She fought until the end. I still feel tears and sadness well up in me every time I drive by her old house. Now, whenever someone says they hate getting old, I say, "I don't." I hope to be very old some day. My friend would have been thankful to still be here with her...

She's gone. It's the first thought that comes to mind when I wake up. It wasn't all a dream. She's really gone. The last time that I saw my sister alive, her eyes were yellow with jaundice. Yet I showed only the same poker face I had for the two-and-a-half years that she...

It was so hard at first - I would come home from school, and I'd just expect her to be there. I hated that she'd gone, but knew it was better than the drawn out pain. I'll meet her again, one day, when I die. But it still hurts.
