I Love 50's Style Diners, Soda Fountains and Drive-in Restaurants!

I totally love 50's style diners, soda fountains and drive-in restaurants. The fun retro atmosphere, the chrome and 50's decor, and the food just rock! One of my favorite diners is Planet Java 50's Diner in Fort Langley, BC. Their cherry milkshakes are awesome!

    I Remember The Real Ones

Like the Dog and Suds with really great Root Beer. I don't think I was ever at one with waitresses on roller skates but I do remember the food tray hanging on the window. I was not the kind of guy who went to a diner to show off my car (who would want to show off an ordinary '56...

    Good Times

Living in CLovis New Mexico back in the late 70's, there was a cool drive-in where the girls still wore rollerskates to come out to your car for the order.  It was also where on warm evenings, locals cruise the drive-in in their cherry cars while 50's and 60's...

    Though, I'm not awful nostalgic

for the 50's like other Millennials but when it comes to diners and drive-ins, my inner greaser comes out. I love the fountain soda, the milkshakes, the vintage cars that make frequent appearances and the overall feel-good atmosphere. Luckily we have plenty of these in the Diner...

I love 50's Diner, as diners here are not

common at all. So we had to go all the way to Baguio (beautiful mountain area surrounded by pine trees that smell so nice at night and beautiful flowers too) so we can dine in this famous 50's Diner. As you enter the restaurant, you would have this feeling as if you are in a...

    Former Carhop

I used to be a skating carhop, and to me, there is nothing like an old fashioned diner or drive in! My favorite part about being a carhop was knowing that I was making some older person happy, from remembering when they were younger! There was this one morning when I was the...

    The Trolley Car Classic

The Trolley Car Diner in Philadelphia was my first experience with diners and it remains a classic. Close to my heart because I went there with my now recently deceased uncle whom I lost to pancreatic cancer. I still expect to see him again and for us to go there again. He may...

    Miami, Florida...

...in the 1960s had Royal Castle with its little grilled burgers & onions and ice-cold chocolate thick shakes you had to eat with a spoon because they were so scrumptiously thick & rich--sort of like soft ice cream--that you couldn't drink them with a straw, and to eat that combo...

    Best 50's Restaurant

We went to a place called Yesterday's Texas in Bridgeport, Texas after being told by friends of ours. Wow! The atmosphere was pure 50's, with decor that is actually from the fifties and sixties. Great tunes to go along with tasty food! I had a huge burger called the "Big...
