    The Wedding Present..

. NME memorably said 'sound like a cutlery drawer being thrown downstairs whilst a maths teacher moans about his girlfriend' Yep. That's about right. And yep. All the songs do sound the same. But what a lovely song... Still going. And still my favourite band.

1983. And in the corner of the Goth disco

sits a 17 year old- pleased to have negotiated the bouncers- sporting what he comically believes to be a Bunnyman coiffure. (Review of photographic evidence from the period reveals that his head resembled a pizza with a thatch atop it) A pint of noxious snakebite and black...

Born Sandy Devotional - The Triffids.

Not much remembered. But a work of sweeping genius. What does it sound like? It sounds like the cover looks. Majestic, bleached out colour, wistful nostalgic romantic yearning... Imagine an Australian Arcade Fire... If you don't know it- do listen. You won't regret it..

    Just like with movies

and everything else, I'm the only one in my house that enjoys music from the '80s. Although I was born in 1988, this is some of the music I grew up listening to. I have my dad to thank for that. He also introduced me to music from the '50s and '60s. Music today simply doesn't...

Wishing (If I Had A Photograph Of You), Come On Eileen, Makin My Dreams Come True, Private Eyes, Lady, Don't Stop Believing, Sweet Caroline, Take On Me.....gives me nostalgia of a time period I never lived in. It reminds me of my childhood, though. Growing up in the nineties I...
