I Love Abandoned Places

To Wander And Explore Lonely Forgotten Places 7,280 People

They allow my mind the freedom to recreate the

possible histories of their existence and weave my own stories as to how they became abandoned. It's like time traveling to another time and place.

Attached is another picture of the abandoned

building I posted about a couple weeks ago. After asking around and getting other opinions, I think it may have been a school in the late 1800's. I am sad that the land it's on is for sale. There was something else that was next to it that seemed to be connected to it somehow...

I grew up with this sight.

Driving through the country in the backseat of the car, windows down, watching the world roll by. I liked the old places best. They made me sad, but I liked them best. Like an old black and white photograph they sat surrounded by color that couldn't touch them. How do you look...

    Abondoned House W.Australia

I found this house a while back, in the western Australian rural areas maybe 6hours from 'civilisation' as they say, it was as if the person died and the place was forgotten and left as a time capsule. I came across a house left as is, in tact, furniture and all. It looked like...

    Abandoned Hospital

I went to explore an old abandoned hospital today. It was scary but exciting. These buildings always seem to have an eerie, peaceful feel to them, especially in hospitals when it's easy to see what ward belonged to the ill children, etcI always go so quiet when i'm in the...

The good thing about history is it leaves

abandoned ruins just about everywhere! I loved roaming the Cathar trail in Languedoc when I went with a now ex boyfriend just over a year ago. Well it was during the summer of 2013. You get a sense of history, yes, but also of struggle and making do. It shows a great aspect of...

I have a weird obsession with abandon places.

I'm always on google looking up new places I haven't read about or known. I want to travel and look at so many. I'm thinking about saving up money to go out and look at some of them, take pictures, you know the usual. I love the ones who have a background story to why they are...

I love going to little ghost towns,

I once went to Texas to see some friends and we ended up at an old church with super creepy gravestones. It wasn't even covered in graffiti like a lot of places, just a tiny white church on a big flat piece of land. We'd watched a video of the church earlier on in the day where...

wonder what an old abandoned home was like when it was thriving... the different weaving of lives within its rooms. If the old walls could talk, I wonder what stories they would tell?:)

Spent part of Sunday morning touring old Family

cemeteries that have been abandoned. These were three family cemeteries side by side - one with a brick wall, one in old laid stone, and the other in rod iron. All beautiful in their own respected way, neglected and in much needed care. So much history as the date back from 1700...
