I Love Being a Mom

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 9,223 People

I had a moment. I kept it to myself

for a while to treasure but I can share it now. My girls are growing up. They don't often hold my hand anymore. Sitting on my lap may occur but it's usually accompanied by giggles as Mom flails and gasps for air. The youngest now wears shoes bigger than mine and crows about it...

I had to chuckle at M this morning.

She was all excited because it was 13 below but there was no wind chill so we were finally getting a "warm" day! I think I've raised me a little Minnesotan! LOL

I like to ask my girls what they think about

things. They always surprise me. What you think might matter most to your child often isn't anywhere near the top of the list. Today I was shopping with my 18 year old. Curious, I asked "what do you see when you look at me? What stands out?" I was expecting (as we always seem to...

Somebody's going to get a happy surprise when she gets home! Most of the spy stuff is cute and excellent imagination exercise in my opinion. Except for the motion detector alarm. That sucker's just annoying as hell. LOL

I love those weird wonderful random things kids do. My 10 year old just walked through the room doing bird calls. Even my 18 year old still has times where she seems to have gone somewhat bonkers. It's not unusual for her to come up beside me and do an impression of a turtle...
