    Being a Mom

I was told at a very young age that for me to have a child it may take some "work." As in, infertility issues. As I walked through life my dream of having a baby drizzled away with each step. At age 28, I married my best friend of 11 years. It was amazing to feel so...

My life is filled with mix emoations,

I've always loved my mom so much. I still love her more then anything. I recently moved out of my mom's house because of my stepdad and how he treated me. Also for the fact I am transgender and she won't accept me and I felt trapped. Everytime we tried talking about the whole...

I miss my son everyday .

I raised him well as a single mom and he grew up too fast and met a girl who poisoned his mind. Enjoy your young children every moment. I hold on to the memories and pray night and day he see's the light. We all want the best for our children but we do not have control who they...

I like to ask my girls what they think about

things. They always surprise me. What you think might matter most to your child often isn't anywhere near the top of the list. Today I was shopping with my 18 year old. Curious, I asked "what do you see when you look at me? What stands out?" I was expecting (as we always seem to...

Is a woman a woman before child birth?

Let's not fight now! It's a debate that I had with my girlfriend's dad the other night. I was surprised to hear that he disagreed with me. I said that I truly feel that a woman is not fully capable of loving anyone but herself until they have a child. My problem...I was...

A while back I wrote another one of my epically

bad poems about motherhood. You may have blocked it out. LOL Anyway, feeling sappy and sentimental that day, I sent it in a message to the daughter about whom it was written. Last night, she comes to me and asks if I'll read it on youtube the next time I do a poem. I point out...

    You know what I love?

I love those weird wonderful random things kids do. My 10 year old just walked through the room doing bird calls. Even my 18 year old still has times where she seems to have gone somewhat bonkers. It's not unusual for her to come up beside me and do an impression of a turtle...

I can be the best parent to my teenage daughter.

On father's day, yesterday, the memory of our family breaking up popped up again. My daughter was clutching a small card given away by a branded bakeshop at the mall. It was meant to be filled out and given to fathers. She must have gotten it when I went off to get some cash...

I'm looking back on the past few days.

It's a struggle for me to ensure I give my kids a perfect birthday and memories they'll have to look back on with love and tenderness. I usually out-do myself and take a few days to recover afterwards. But this time round, I appreciated the fact that the struggle is mine alone...

Everybody makes me feel bad because I don't feed my toddler the healthiest of foods (though he will eat yogurt and stuff like that). It's just hard because I really don't have the money for it. Or rather I don't really have the money for him to keep wasting the food or for the...
